NEXT WEEK: An early return to KARAWANG INTERNATIONAL
(11:30, cRp650,00 all-in with shared cart)
First Tee Set round of the year and, at Rp.508,000 all-in, PALM HILL is another great value for money course and we plan to return on a regular basis.
Many thanks to all for listening to our plea to advise your intention to play. This made an immediate positive impact in terms of Starter relations with two tee boxes and starting on time – and with the group starting on hole 10 coming home in 4 hours with others not far behind. We had 36 registered and with 2 pulling out on Sunday Morning we were to start with 34. Grateful you continue to advise intent to play as early as possible – it really helps!!
The course was in good condition considering the soaking it received overnight and indeed right up until just before tee time. Greens and fairways were good, however, bunkers were a mess and a clear disadvantage to the first groups out. A new rule will be required to cope – watch this space.
Fernando had some amusement at your President’s expense by stamping the latter’s ball into the soft fairway; cunningly timing his moves to coincide with a villager passing the ball’s location. The poor guy received harsh grilling about the disapearance. After a provisional ball was played. Fernando amazingly, and inevitably, “found” the first ball.
Palm Hill’s caddies circumvented the side saddle rule by standing on the back of the cart and they were a delight as always, particularly if you gave chocolate. See Jan’s “result” to the right.
Joseph Peries gets de-merit points for wearing Brad Sincock’s beer. Terrible waste especially at Rp200K a jug. Well done to Keith Miller for finally being able to finish 18 holes of golf in one day. More or less back to fitness, he just has to sort his swing out now!
Chris Smith has been nick named Penicillin Man because on Sunday he was the man who had everything. Skirt(s), an evening dress, a pick-up, a birdie, sandy par and club abuse. Will he get back on the horse next week?
In a healthy boost to Tee Set finances, Chris was joined by four others in the Sunday Cross Dressers Club.
Peter Reichlmeier managed to use his sand wedge 8 times on hole #13 and walked off the par 3 with 7 over par. Boy, he loves that sand. One for the book of records we think
The Tee Set fashionista police cited Neil Mullins for wearing a Rule Britannia belt but his crime was nowhere near as bad as Raymond Leong’s orange shirt hilariously “matched” with yellow pants. Tidak cocok, Raymond!
A keen observer has found a way to measure the popularity of a course by comparing the number of “experienced” balls for sale – Palm Hill is undoubtedly in the ascendancy.
Our President with his old timers afflictions once again forgot the longest drive and NTP. So in good bushman style he improvised by putting markers out as he went – somewhat to the surprise of othe following flights. The NTP marker got closer and closer to the pin but nobody thought to write their name on the card 😦
We were however able to work out the Longest Drive as there were indeed a couple of names on that card 🙂
Plenty more photos of the days here , including all those cross dressers of course.
