Some of you may have noticed that the Tee Set schedule for the rest of the year has been updated with some pretty exciting stuff – with the standouts being fixtures arranged for Rancamaya, the favourite course of many and one which attracted a year high 50+ Tee Setters last year; Emerelda, another very fine course and, in early July, we will make a first visit to the home of the Indonesian Masters Event, Royale Jakarta, where you can measure your game against that of Lee Westwood who shot 16 under par over 4 rounds there last year, though from something called the “black tees”.
You will also notice from the schedule that a Monthly Medal will be instituted in the near future when Stableford format will bring a little variety to our largely stroke play driven lives. More details here.
Finally, how many of the faces do you recognise on this Tee Set photo taken in May 1984, less than a year after the foundation of our august institution?
For most, not too many we venture to suggest, so many thanks to Stan Cooke, a member in the eighties and resident in Aberdeen these days, for letting us have this and some background in his e-mail to us last week.
