NEXT SUNDAY: Tee Set’s 1st Monthly Medal at MATOA!!!
(Full details on Thursday)
JAGORAWI New Course played from the white tee boxes (equialent to blue everywhere else in Jakarta) and using the TWO MAN SCRAMBLE format turned out to be a fun day. The format when coupled with a very imaginative handicapping formulae actually ensured a level playing field for most of the teams.
The course despite a lot of recent rain was in great nick although the greens did resemble a motocross track in places. The management has promised to lift their game on this one negative point.
Nice to finally have some pretty female caddies to choose from after what seemed a life time of putting up with cranky male caddies at Jags.
Tee Set fielded 18 players (9 two-man teams) and I am pleased to announce that one of our teams won the overall low net competition with a score of 65.5. Great work by Evaldo Roos and Yohannes Pesch. Second place but closely contested was Mick Kilfoyle and Michael Noyse with a net 66.6. Mike Garwood took closest to the pin for the A grade player so it was almost a clean sweep for Tee Set.
So, is this perhaps a sign of better things to come for Tee Set in 2013? Wooden spooners last year but Interleague captain Peter Reichlmeier has been busy scouting Blok M for new blood (and capable golfers) so the old guard will have to pick up their games to be eligible for team selection this year. The real Interleague match play comp will commence next month. Remember that Tee Set will continue to host its normal Stroke Play event commencing immediately after the Interleague shot gun start at 09:30.
Very little rain experienced on the day so our regular Pawan Hujan once again did an outstanding job although not playing on the day. It was dually noted that beer purchased wholesale for less than Rp10,000 a glass was sold for Rp50,000. A bit tough on the regular Tee Set drinkers, Edwin!!!
Tom Grace arrived late after missing the toll exit for Jags. Bet he’ll never make that same mistake again. On the plus side he finally took home his bottle of Black Label won during last year’s championship event.
Yohannes took home a bottle of wine donated by Geoff T and Mick/Michael grabbed a bottle each from Tee Set. Evaldo the remaining winner will get his bottle next week if he shows up.
