Next Round – Pondok Cabe, Sunday 17th March @11:30

planeAs recently as two years ago Pondok Cabe was a distinctly 3rd class Jakarta golfing venue, however, with some well-directed hard work on the greens and fairways by the management and ground staff, a relatively switched on Starter, the expansion of the cart fleet from 2 (?) to 30 and a start being made to putting proper cart paths throughout the course things have been turned around.

Add to all that the sort of green fees and bar prices that can only happen on a course owned by a National Oil company and it has become a venue well worth visiting – and the place now a firm fixture on the Tee Set Schedule.

We will start from tee boxes 1 and 10 on Sunday at 11:30 and, with the rainy season apparently in its death throes and our Pawang Hujan returned from his overseas follies, all is looking good for an excellent day.

Handicaps have been updated for the day and can be found here.

As ever please let us know if you intend playing by completing the “Yes, I’m playing” form.

Our classifieds section has got off to a good start and only a couple of items remain so if you have anything to get rid of then let us know.

Finally, please check your clubs if you played at Palm Hill last Sunday to see if you recognise them; if you don’t then it is likely that the ones you have belong to Dave Baglivo who will be happy to swap them back as soon as possible.

See ya Sunday!

PS In case you were wondering, the photo above is of a light training plane that crashed on the course a year or three ago but – with no training flights scheduled and with Geoff “Biggles” Thwaites also out of country – we should only be at risk from the usual shanks and duck hooks on Sunday.
