Getting there

The 5th Bandung Bash has seen a significant increase in numbers with lots of newcomers this year so probably a good idea therefore to make sure they (and the more forgetful of the old timers) get to the place without disaster.

In fact, considering it is relatively far away at 174 kilometers and 2 hours 24 minutes according to Google, the Bandung Giri Gahana course is pretty much a breeze to get to. We are confident that even Binksy driving himself can do this one without having to pay anything substantial in the way of fines.

In brief, get yourself onto the Cikampek Jalan Tol heading East and keep going to the end; the Tol changes name from time to time but don’t get confused – resist the temptation to turn off anywhere and just keep going straight on .

At the end of the Tol you are just 2 miles from the course itself when you will finally pay your toll money and exit to the small town of Jatinagor where you hang a left, hang a right to go up the hill and turn left at the University complex and then continue on, largely through the course, until you will find yourself at the Giri Gahana Hotel on the course itself. Reward yourself with a coffee on the terrace, or perhaps something stiffer, and enjoy the stunning view.

Other Useful Stuff

The hotel takes Visa and MasterCard and there is a CIMB Bank Niaga ATM on the premises, though it might be a risk too far  to rely on it exclusively.

More than adequate supplies of beer are available at the hotel but anything else is a challenge – so come well provisioned with that anything else, there are no corkage charges.

If you are paranoid then carefully store your clubs in your room every night; otherwise leave them with the staff when they will magically turn up every day.
