For those who haven’t done so already, a reminder to fill in “Yes, I’m playing!” for the Royal and Ancient Fatmawati on Sunday, starting at 8am when a fun day in the sun is promised, not least for lovers of fine Bakso washed down with a cold one from Anker Bir.
Early this year it was decided by the people asleep at the wheel your hard working committee that an alternative venue to Jagorawi would be offered each time the Interleague team played there. The reasoning behind this was principally that many of us, erm, less skilled golfers, were paying a very premium price for the privilege of shooting 10 or more strokes higher than usual due to the punishing nature of the Jags New Course.
The policy has been pretty successful and combined attendance at Jags plus the alternate have been significantly higher than we used to get at Jags alone.
In a one-off reversal of that policy however, it has been decided that we will all play at Jags on the 22nd September – for one they have dropped their price to a still high but rather more reasonable 800,000 roops all-in including shared cart – and it also gives us a chance to celebrate 2 time President Geoff Thwaite’s 69th (?) birthday immediately after the Interleague prize giving.
Geoff is throwing a wedge behind the bar to get the party going – and who knows what other “fun” he has up his sleeve?
You will be relieved to know, however, that before agreeing to the party, your Committee wisely obtained a firm commitment from Geoff not to sing the “Purple People Eater” again.
See yah at Fatmawati – don’t miss what will be one of the fun days of the year!! …. Tee Set
