An excellent day for the 31 Tee Setters who joined in the fun of the Interleague 4 man Scramble and Prize giving at the delightful Jags Golf and Country Club.
Boosted a little by being the only five man team in the field, Tee Set in the shape of Newcomers Corrie and Simon Lawton from South Africa, aided and abetted by Craig Ewers, Sofree Abdul and Dan Richards, went 11 under off the stick to take the Low Gross award – well done them!!
In a distinction of a rather different sort, another of Tee Set’s teams, this one composed of Bill Lloyd, Ken Runyon, Nick Shearman and Shane Rawles, managed a triple bogey – an almost unparalleled achievement in a format where four players each have a go at every shot. One can only imagine that they took Jack Calcote’s Smoothie award – and that there were 4 OBs involved 🙂
Whilst representing Loose Impediments on the day, regular Tee Setter Chris Smith won a share of almost everything , including the Interleague Wooden Spoon!
Even the smoke from Fernanado “El Guapo” Gaggino’s expensive cigar is unable to hide Chris’s grin – or his numerous prizes.
The Interleague and its supporters put on an excellent spread after the event as well as enough booze to float an Italian tour liner off the rocks. Many thanks to them for that and the great organisation that set us all up for such a fine day.
To add to the day’s joy, the rain pretty much stayed away apart from a little light stuff for a few holes – and the ride back to Jakarta on the Jagorawi Tol was to be a joy!!
Next Week
Well, yes, we hardly need to remind you that we are all off to Matoa next Sunday for the great day, the 2013 Tee Set Championship – a day that will also see the final of the 2013 Tee Set Matchplay Championship played. Inschallah.
Registration and breakfast available from 6am, the BIG photo at 7am and find your cart at 7.15 for a Shotgun start at 7.30.
Don’t be late!
Election of President
The man with Tee Set engraved on his heart, Ric Wymer, has decided it was time to step down after three spells as President covering more than five years – and even then said he would continue if no other bugger would take it on. Amazing – and we all owe Ric a debt of gratitude far bigger than most can know of.
Thankfully for Ric, two candidates have emerged for the position of President for the 2013/2014 year, running between Tee Set Championships.
Those candidates are as follows:
All Tee Setters who have played a minimum of 8 Sundays with Tee Set since, and including, the 2012 Tee Set Championship will be given a voting slip when registering at the Championship event next Sunday – voting slips which will have the two names on them when all you have to do is circle one of the two names and put the slip in the box you will find for the purpose located next to our lovely secretary – and all before 7am if your vote is to count, please.
Votes will be counted while we are on the course, and the coming year’s President announced immediately after prize giving.
See yah at the BIG one!! … Tee Set
