Next up: Senayan National, Sunday 30th March 2014

SenayanFeedback from Tee Setters after the first Monthly Medal in February at our new home at Senayan National was overwhelmingly positive and there is definitely a bit of a buzz in the air over our return on Sunday for the March event, demonstrated not least by nearly 40 players already committing to play.

Green Fees of just 500,000 walking for this fine course though a buggy will set you back another 250,000 – if you can get someone to share a buggy with you!

After Sentul Highlands, the start time from 2 tees seems a little early at 11:00 but with (say) 12 groups to get away, the last group will not go out until around midday and is unlikely to return until some time after 4.30 pm.

If you have not already done so then please let us know of your intention to play on Sunday by signing up here; we have a maximum of 14 flights or 56 Tee Setters which should be enough but be warned that, if there are restrictions, then first come first served will apply.

It is worth stating here our general policy on flights also reflects the principle of “first come, first served”. Clearly there are other considerations that have to be taken into account but it would be true to say that, most of the time, if you show up last then you play last – and vice versa.

Gucci Slacks

In case you were wondering, the “other  considerations” include our objective of relatively matched groups in terms of ability, pre-stated preferences for pairing and of course to get Matchplay opponents into the same flight.

Bribery also works.

Finally, a reminder that the Senayan lockers should not be mistaken for the vaults of Fort Knox and that you should not leave anything of significant value in there over and above your prized Gucci slacks.

Tee Set Matchplay 2014

While we know there are bound to be a few “sticky” ones later, there are early signs of willingness to get first round matches played – and with four more due to be fought out on Sunday at Senayan

Anthony King v Koen Verhayen

Bruce Hector v Sam Westen

John Suermondt v Wina Nugraha

Mel Meeds v Neil Mullins
