Our next challenge is the Jagorawi New Course located in the stunning jungle setting of the Cikeas River Valley. Construction of the first Jagorawi course started in the same year that construction of the first Jalan Tol completed in 1979 and the course, uniquely, benefits from what is almost its own private Tol exit!
The course was the first course of modern design in the country and has achieved worldwide recognition for its quality, featuring in all those “Top 100 Golf Courses of the World” photographic tomes that no self-respecting golfer would be without on his coffee table.
For years (don’t you have a date? – Ed) the Jakarta Interleague has been privileged to take advantage of the New Course and its clubhouse as its regular monthly venue from February to November. Those advantages include being able to tee off 60-80 players around 9:30am in a mini-shotgun format, something which could not be done anywhere else without having to close the course.
Sunday will see the usual Tee Set Plus, ie the full set of Tee Set prizes and penalties for all players plus Interleague against the top ranking “Cloggies” for eight of our number – and with all players also participating in for the Interleague’s Long Drive and Nearest to the Pin prizes for players of various categories.
Arguably Indonesia’s premier golf course, “Jags” charges rather higher prices than we destitute Tee Setters are used to, though the special rate we will pay on Sunday of 805,000 roops, including cart, is something of a bargain for a course of such quality even though the full shot-gun from as many holes as required will not be until 12:45 this week, due to an “event” of course. Sign up for the fun here as usual.
In partial mitigation relatively cheap cans of the amber neck fluid will be available on the 19th.
In case you missed it in our last post, here is the latest Interleague Newsletter again.
Lido Lakes Weekend – 5th & 6th July
A reminder that the fun and games of a Tee Set golfing weekend is just around the corner and, if you haven’t already, then get your skates on and register here.
The Sunday morning tee off time will be at 9am, allowing those who stayed overnight a chance to sleep off the excesses of the BBQ on the Saturday evening and take a leisurely breakfast and, for those who didn’t, there is time to hike it from Jakarta in the morning and play their usual Tee Set Sunday in the Sun™.
Timing for the event has been cleverly planned for Ramadan so that we can expect lighter than usual traffic both on the roads and also on an excellent course.
See ya at Jags …. Tee set
PS A reminder to come armed with a few extra balls; it’s a jungle out there!
