As the rainy season finally gets into swing the challenge of Kedaton out on the Western flatlands is next up, when we are confident that the presence of our own Pawang Hujan, the remoteness from the rain prone South and Kedaton’s immense powers of recovery will see us through the day uninterrupted.
Last time we were there, back in February and in the rainy season, there had been heavy recent rains but the course played well. Net winner with a 72 that day was Thurmond Borden who registers far more than he plays these days, while Sam “Kelly” Westen took Low Gross with 79 off the stick.
Your scribe managed to find himself at the gates of Jagorawi last week and needing to reverse back to Riverside via Cibubur in a late challenge for this season’s Vasco da Garma Trophy, though your committee still has Michael Seabrook’s “Tangerang Tour” well ahead.
Pleased to tell you therefore that the following directions are provided by the Immediate Past President of Nearly Everything rather than yours truly.
Heading west on the Merak toll road, get into the left lane at Kilometre Post 30 which will bring you to the far left toll booth at Kilometre Post 32.
Do not enter any other booth because there is a road divider which getting the wrong side of will condemn you to hell.
After exiting the booth, take the flyover that crosses over the toll road. Drive north for a short distance and take the next left that takes you into the Kedaton Golf Estate.
Every time we visit Kedaton we lose a few so, if you are not experienced at the Kedaton run, then you would be well advised to follow the instructions very carefully.
Tee off will be at 11:00 from 1 & 10 with green fees of 650,00 roops including cart though Kedaton does offer one of Jakarta’s few remaining walking options at 110,000 less. Be warned that we usually get away a little early.
If you haven’t done so already then get yourself signed up here for another great Tee Set Sunday.
Tee Set Championship
Couple of very important matters to report about the Championship, Jack Calcote has generously agreed to provide his legendary Smoothies once again this year, and the perpetual trophies have brushed up really well as you will see in the photo – and the inscriptions of past winners have also been brought up to date.
See ya at Kedaton! … Tee Set
