That Rancamaya is a great course has never been in doubt, with top class green stuff of every kind throughout – and lovingly maintained, largely free of bothersome tee box “entrepreneurs”, very cute caddies and a terrific clubhouse with all the necessary – and this in a quite stunning mountain setting.

So good in fact is Rancamaya that it was voted Tee Sets #1 favourite course in a poll of members earlier in the year. And, as you know, the opposition is not insignificant.

Been before? – then you know, not been? – you are in for a treat, trust us.

To add to the glory of it all, management have now seen fit to add a very smart hotel, the “R Hotel”, a 60 degree wedge shot away from the clubhouse itself, a facility that has been extensively checked out, at no small personal inconvenience, by your committee – and now by Jan Janda and a small but sociable group of his own. All, totally uninfluenced by the free accommodation and some fine wine, were to give the place a massive thumbs up.

So, and to cut a longish story short, we are going May 16th/17th; travel traffic lite Saturday morning, play Saturday afternoon, evening bbq with live entertainment etc on Saturday night, breakfast and then the usual Tee Set Sunday round.

If you want just come up for the usual Sunday Tee Set then that is OK too, you will just miss a lot of fun and the generosity of Tee Set in subsidising the rooms – a subsidy based on how many times you have played Tee Set since the Championship until the end of April!!!
