The day
An unstressed drive out to BSD on a Sunday morning was just what the golfing doctors ordered. Tee Setters were filling up the restaurant a full two hours before tee time and the club was doing a brisk business on the breakfast menu not to mention the beer trade with prices dropped a mouth-watering 10% in our honour after the ex-President of Most Things found it hard to swallow draft beer offered at Rp75K a glass and lobbied the F&B to get real or suffer 50 golfers bringing their own beer esskies. 10% discount offered and accepted but was considered rather pitiful, however, most had brought their own tinnies along anyway 🙂
First time up for Patrick Sim, welcome to Tee Set Patrick, we hope you will enjoy your golf with us.
Sad to lose another two regulars with Leona Jelinkova and Jan Jelinek (“The Jellys”) heading back to new postings in the Czech Republic.
It’s been really great having you guys along over the last 3 years and we wish you happy golfing wherever you decide to tee up next. Suggest using your Shangri-La discount cards before you go. Not sure the card will be recognized outside Indonesia but give it a try and let us know how you get on.
The first SNAFU of the day was discovering the Tee Set computer battery was flat and the charger was nowhere to be found. Nevertheless a quick call to Grab –Bike and it was on the way from Pejatan for the paltry sum of Rp80K. On the upside it released Brenda to hit the course with the camera and over 80 rather better than usual photos on the web site Gallery was the result. A lot of creativity shown by some players and one or two copycat poses.
Stinking hot day with no wind and the Poms were falling like flies. The second nine cooled off considerably with a bit of wind and some cloud cover.
A reasonably steady round time wise but the group was in no hurry for a fast round – it is such a lovely course so why be in a hurry to leave it behind?
Current VP of a few things (Mel) deserves a mention since he arrived at the very last tee box with his first skirt-free round in some considerable time in prospect. Rather unkindly, some might think, the former President of Most Things and playing in the same flight, brought to Mel’s attention that the red tee boxes were quite a substantial distance away. Beads of sweet formed on Mel’s brow and the over-tightening of those muscles needing to be loose for a free-flowing swing led to the inevitable result. Better luck next week Mel.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of the playing day was not all those skirts, there were only 7 of them today anyway, but rather Peter Bush getting Tee Set’s very first eagle of the year, in fact our first since that of Anlo at Jagorawi in September last year. Well done, Bushy!!
Bushy’s joy on the day was however not to be unalloyed as he managed to pair it with 15 stokes on a single hole later on to ensure that his winnings were not to go home unbroken.

Happy grade winners, Axel, Gerald and Ric …
Detailed player by player results here while more photos of the day can be found on the Tee Set Gallery.
Next up
We usually offer an alternative venue on Interleague match days, however, not this month when everyone will be at Jagorawi for the fun and challenge of a fine course; and with a full array of all the usual Tee Set prizes on offer.
A shotgun start at 12:45 will ensure we all finish in good time – green fees of 975,000 including shared cart but with a reduced Tee Set participation fee of just 50,000, all of which all goes to the Interleague.
Sign up here as usual for what should be a great day.
See ya at Jags! …. Tee Set

And it’s goodbye from them too …… including “Eagle Boy” Bushy on the far right
