The DayJagorawi resultsNumbers can be deceiving and while only 27 Tee Setters formally registered, about 20 more more were hidden among the competing Interleague teams, making it a solid turnout.  It was a good way to support Interleague but not sure we will be rushing back too quickly, given the other courses available, the less than helpful male caddies and the return trip on the toll road.

Tee Setters filled in a number of shortages in other interleague teams while our own Tee Set defending champions sunk to rock bottom (again) with another crushing 10-0 defeat to rivals Cloggies.  Captain Ric was forced to reconsider his bid for captaincy for life and will no doubt take the blade to the side and bring in himself and new recruits next round in order to salvage some honour. In the meantime he looks like he is coping just fine.27152465366_4d1d6945ac_z

Big welcome back to Pekka after 17 weeks and welcome to newcomer Prannoy, who had to quickly access our spare set after his clubs were broken in shipping.  Prannoy previously played off 13 but not sure he was too happy after this drive or his baptism of fire at Jags.

The Play

Jagorawi results 2

Some reasonable and some horrible golf was played.  Stuart’s 38 on the front nine was a shining light, Ric’s 68 net was the round of the day and Roger’s even net par 84 off the stick were all worth celebrating.  Prize giving was a little confused by the mixed Tee Set and Interleague cards, and presentations were more difficult in the middle of the cackling interleague crowd.  But we managed.

First, the winners’ circle.

Roger took Low Net A Grade, with Stuart taking Low Gross, Ric won Low B Grade and Cucu Low C Grade.  Prannoy took first birdie and first sandy on his first outing but could only keep one prize and Mark and Jaco shared Low Putts with 29 (tied with Ric who had won already, noting Roger’s impressive 27 but he too had won).  Malty took First Par Over 30 and Carm was rewarded for sticking at it, after threatening to go home on the second hole, with Most Improved – keep at it Carm!  Carm, Tank, Tony and Drew were huddled up in the opposite corner from the Tee Set table so we missed them for presentations but caught up later.

Ricardo was such a good sport in hanging around for the skirt photo that we excused him from a fine for Most Strokes.  No Monster Putter was awarded either as nobody passed the 40 limit.

In the only matchplay battle of the day outside of the hapless interleague matches, Mick snuck past Cucu with a putt on the last to win 1 Up.

Next Up: Monthly Medal, Imperial Golf Klub, 12 Noon,770k Rp

Yes its time again to return to Imperial Golf Klub with a “K” for the Monthly Medal and final round of the third cycle of the Tee Set Eclectic.  With last cycle’s runner up and Monthly Medal El Supremo “Pastis” Pascal leading the Singing President by three strokes, and desperate to take “The Coffin” home to his man cave, there will no doubt be all sorts of tactics at play.

Given a tournament at Imperial in the morning, we may be in for a later start but we are negotiating a shotgun start to speed up play and allow all flights to finish.  This proved very successful at Jagorawi on the weekend with most flights completing rounds in 4 hours 20 minutes, a reasonable target for competition golf.  We are also encouraging players to pick up on double par to speed up play (mark an X on your score card and minimum 2 putts, more if you had more).

Register here as usual.
