Tee Set World Cup: First Round, 2nd October 2016, Riverside

Fantastic response to this new event with 70 players, including a lot of guests.

Yep, after the first day of competition, Srikandi – Team Indonesia – are well in the lead, after smashing the Anzacs 3 team 3-0 and scoring what must be record better ball stableford scores – a total of 136 – and average of over 9 under nett per pair – phenomenal effort that may attract the attention of anti-doping officials.

Great to see Team Finland with hats and shirts, Team India with shirts and Team Czech with some great face painting here.

Lots of fun was clearly had….and another hole in one provided by Team GB – well done Ian Butcher!!!  Not a good day to shout the bar, with 70 players!!

Squillions more photos here and here….

A couple of teams missed out on finishing due to the late start and overcast conditions. There was some rain through the day but nothing hard enough to be problematic. The wind came up and made the playing conditions quite comfortable.

The day was not without dramas when the Web Guy was denied access to accompany photographer Brenda around the course in the highly overpriced buggy.  Riverside are not doing their best to host next year’s event.

The Web Guy did a grand job with the score cards and pairings. Very chaotic during registration – and the occasional precious souls bleating – but all worked out well.

Winning pairs went into the luck draw for the 6 bottles of wine on offer. Ken & Don from Team USA won one, Sisca and friend from Team Srikandi won another, and the final bottles?? Better refer to the photos here.

Next Sunday is singles.  Stableford scores will be added to the team better ball scores above.

If you have registered with a team no need to register again.

If not, register here to be slotted in to the gaps.  You may not get to play for your country but the world is a wide and wonderful place and Tee Set encourages you all to be good global citizens 🙂

No need for a next up….you should know…back to Riverside for the grand finale…see ya Sunday.
