Sentul Highlands, Sunday 22nd January 2017

The Day

Sentul Highlands treated the 37 Tee Setters with some starting problems, eventually managing to spread out our players over 3 holes and whilst the initial holes were slow, all enjoyed a relatively rain free round and good weather, with everyone finishing just before the last light faded, albeit with pretty high scores, funnily enough especially for the lower handicaps. Culminating in a well deserved beer, even though it seems in a rather serious atmosphere:

before the ride back home, which due to the delayed finish and prizes presentation was a clearer run back to Jakarta.

We had 2 Newcomers this week reinforcing our local contingent: Husni Fuad and Muhammad Anhar to whom we wish a warm Tee Set welcome. We also had a couple of Welcome Backs of more than a year, proving “Once a Tee Setter, always a Tee Setter”, with Aljosja van Dorssen after 61 weeks and Ross Pageano after 53 weeks.

The Play

Mark Johnson won Low Net A Grade for his net 75 on a count-back from Fernando Gaggino, while Chris Lever with 68 and Lis Wymer with 69 were among the very few who had under-par rounds today to win respectively Low Net B Grade and Low Net C Grade.

Stuart Wigley was awarded Low gross for his 86 off the stick.

Aljosja van Dorssen showed he didn’t lose his touch during his long absence to win Low Putts with 30.

Richard Green won First Birdie on his 2nd hole.

First Sandy Par was once more awarded to Alastair Livingston for his effort on his 3rd hole.

Mike Riley had an excellent start to his round to win First Par Over 30 on his 1st hole, but had a rough day after that!

Most Improved went to Kelly Chaisson for shaving 12 shots on his back nine, after having a terrible front nine compared to his performance last week. But he unfortunately had to return half of his gains for also winning Most Strokes for his 12 on his first hole.

Reni Riley and Mike Webb shared the less coveted Monster Putter for their 40 shots with the Flatstick .

And finally Sentul Highlands produced a copious amount of 8 skirts, which could have been more considering the 170 yards carry to the ladies tee on hole #5: Alastair Livingston, Chris Lever, Chris Smith, Dennis Wee, Geary Bowles, Kelly Chaisson, Mark Johnson and Mike Riley:
