Pangkalan Jati, Easter Sunday, 16th April 2017

The Day

The 29 Tee Setters who took advantage of the move to the Indonesian Navy owned Pangkalan Jati on Easter Sunday were rewarded with just about perfect weather and an uncrowded course that continues to improve, with significantly better greens than of yore being noted by many.

Two Newcomers to welcome in Heinz Hedinger and Paul Daud, we hope you enjoyed the day guys and return often!

Three significant Welcome Backs this week in young Ghavi (61 weeks) Seki (31 weeks) and Mike Spence (23 weeks) – not so long away next time guys!!

Good service as always by the PJ resto staff – and this coupled with less than half price F&B compared to many others, both on and off course, are good reasons contributing to the course’s increasing popularity.

The Play

A sensational 73 off the stick by Simon Reynolds equals Sam Westen’s long-standing record Low Gross on the course to pick up the blue ribbon Low Net – A Grade prize with 67, allowing Neil to take the Low Gross with his 85 off the stick.

Keith Miller returned to a little form to pick up Low Net – B Grade with a net par thanks largely to the gradually increasing size of his handicap while Lina was her usual solid self in picking up Low Net – C Grade

Of particular interest amongst the other stuff was a remarkably grump-free Graham McGeady picking up 1st Sandy on hole 3, Kim taking 1st par for HC >= 30 on the first hole despite the amateur admin. crew on duty in the absence of Brenda managing to ignore Kim in the initial prize giving. They are suitably humbled.

Your scribe today was to witness Tom Alcedo in some pain with his putter all day when he was to thoroughly deserve the monster putter award for his 42 largely wayward blows with the flat stick.

We invariably, if a little surprisingly, gather a rich crop of skirts at PJ and today was to be no exception with 8 cross dressers snared out of a maximum possible 26.

One flight of 3 players navigated 17 holes successfully before all of them came a cropper on their very last hole – and demanded their very own skirt photo!

Good to see Heinz losing his skirt virginity first time out – saves all that nervous tension waiting to lose it

More detailed, player by player results here and some more photos of the day here.

Matchplay

Just one matchplay result to report with Jari Antikainen and Stuart Wigley both carding net 80 but Jari had the more advantageous distribution of his strokes to finish up 4 and 3.

Next up

Roger is organising the Interleague teams and has been in touch with all concerned and will be filling in final details for you later in the week.  Those playing Interleague have no need to register this week as Roger will handle this directly with you.

Jags will start at 9:30 as usual with green fees of 1.1 million and just a 50,000 roops participation fee.

We do however we offer Palm Hill as an alternative to Jags with a tee time of 12:30 – when Pascal “West Side Story” Bekaert will be coming out of his usual comfort zone to administer affairs at what is a good value course at 880,000 including shared buggy. Register here to join in the fun.

See ya Sunday! …. Tee Set

We should hate any of the other Cross Dressers to feel neglected though a little confused however as to how the VP of Almost Everything managed to sneak in there
