Palm Hill, Sunday 23rd April 2017

The Day

The select group of 12 Tee Setters that joined us at Palm Hill yesterday was treated to a very good start of the day as we were pleasantly surprised by the fact they only charged us 750k instead of the announced 880k and the planned tournament in the morning didn’t take place allowing us to start earlier than scheduled.

All was going very well until the 13th hole where Thor decided to start throwing lightning bolts at us, including one that felt too close for comfort and finally turned on the siren which saw our 3 flights run for cover in the same shelter allowing some deep conversations, banter and photos that startled everybody every time the flash went on thinking it was more lightning.

After half an hour we determined that we should call it a day and drove back to the club house for what seemed like 10 km and felt more like rafting due to the downpour.

The premature finish allowed us to gather around one table for more stories, beverages and food, including the MOAB (Mother Of All Burgers) I couldn’t even finish.

When we left we were once more pleasantly surprised by Palm Hill who graciously gave us rain check vouchers.

We had no Newcomer and the only Welcome Backs worth mentioning were the Gaisler family, after 21 or 15 weeks.

The Play

As we only completed 12 holes, the round was declared void and no prizes were awarded to the great pleasure of the Tee Set Treasurer.

You can enjoy more pictures of the day here.
