This week we continue the special time of the year where the mix of Ramadan and what should be the dry season has motivated us to schedule most of the Sundays down the Jagorawi Toll, as we get better rates, less busy courses and we hope less traffic and rain.
Therefore this weekend we head down to the scenic Rancamaya Golf Estate for our annual Weekend vs. D.O.G.S. where the 30 Tee Setters and D.O.G.S. who have already registered for it will play an unofficial round on Saturday afternoon, fraternize along with their spouses during the Saturday night BBQ and get over their hangover by spending the night at the R Hotel to hopefully be in top shape for the Sunday round. Don’t forget that people attending the BBQ are greatly encouraged to bring a or a few bottles of wine, as well as any other beverages they might want to consume or share.
On Sunday VP Ric will captain the Tee Set match play team that will hopefully regain the trophy lost last year to the D.O.G.S. by selecting the most competitive Tee Setters to match the yet to be determined number of players fielded by the D.O.G.S., while the non-selected players will enjoy the normal Tee Set round with all its fun and prizes.
So if you haven’t done so yet and want to join us on Sunday for a mere 650,000 Rp including cart and an official tee off time of 12:00 please register here.
Friendly reminder that even though we always accept registrations until the last minute, we do appreciate when they are made before Friday afternoon as it greatly helps us with the preparations. On the other end, if you have registered and for some reason can’t make it please let us know.
For more information on the weekend you can consult our Rancamaya weekend 2017 page.

Handicap Improvement (or not)
As we approach the mid-point of 2017, perhaps you are wondering whether you improved or not this year, and to help our competitions captains determine who’s ‘hot’, you can see how you improved (or not 🙂) your handicap this year in the 2017 Handicap Improvement report.
3rd Ramadan Cup
For those of you interested in mid-week golf on June 21, you might want to join the following non-Tee Set event:
As the Holy Month of Ramadan draws to a close our minds are focusing on this important time of the year that leaves some important questions in our minds:
- Did I play enough golf during the discounted month of Ramadan?
- Will I be able to get another game or 2 in before the price rises and the mobs return?
- How enjoyable is the drive back from Riverside as the rest of the country gets into sundowners break fasting?
- How much should I tip the poor starving lass who has lugged my bag for me on this really hot day?
Anyway once you have asked these questions you know the answer is to join the 3rd Ramadan Cup. Enjoy the empty course of Riverside. Get a skinful of your favourite alcoholic beverage into you, without too much fear of the FPI turning up on the 15th to put you off your putting by emptying your last 5 cans into the bushes. No waiting at the restaurant for your order, getting the best seats in the club house. No queue at the Après Golf Spa, unless Thwaites gets there first. All in all a good day as the last few Cups have proven.
Two Cups 3 winners? All down to the organizer being too deep into his cups to be arsed trying to figure out a count back. This year the format will be the same as usual, best net. If it is a tie 2 cups will be awarded. If there are more than 2 winners a drink off will be held to determine the 2 winners.
The cost: Green Fees at Riverside plus caddie tip and necessary beverages to keep you safely hydrated on the course.
Planned Tee off Time is 12.30 so we can break fast after around of golf and a shower over a few coldies.
A good day guaranteed!
