Next Up: Kedaton Sunday 17th February 2019

KedatonSunday sees Tee Set begin its own 4 week “West Jakarta” swing as we visit one of those courses which we tend to go to only once a year, Kedaton Golf & Country Club.

Although a little further down the Tangerang -Merak  Toll road at KM 31, it is set amongst a nice development and is usually in great condition.

charmingSome wide fairways allow you to open up your arms with the driver but there are also canals down the side of many holes to catch errant drives; together with some large greens we usually see that a score around Net Par will put you in contention. On our last visit the pro shop was sparsely stocked so make sure you bring enough ammunition….

Thanks to Wina Nugraha, our fixture Secretary, we have secured an excellent rate which is also lower than last year: Rp750,000 including cart.

Our start time is at 11.30AM so we can be finished and off home in good time. Sign up here to join to fun this week and then read on.

***** IMPORTANT WARNING AND ADVICE *****

The one tricky thing about getting to Kedaton is making sure that you take the correct turn off from the Merak Tol heading West, with the bleached bones of those who miss it generally only found several days after their mistake.

Be prepared to take the far left toll booth, and ONLY the far left toll booth at Km 31, otherwise you WILL NOT be able to get across the toll to Kedaton but instead will be doomed  to wander the Western Badlands for eternity.

If you are taxi-ing then keep a close eye on your driver and guide him as necessary. They are likely not to know this detail and are best served by you paying for the additional 20km to the next U-turn and back

Upcoming Events…

Tee Set Schedule & Handicapping Update

On the scheduling front, the Jakarta Inter-League committee has decided to move the venue of 2019’s matches to Riverside and so the schedule is updated accordingly with some ensuing changes to other weeks. It means, for now, that Jagorawi disappears from our schedule but we are working with their management to find a couple of suitable dates to include it as a regular Sunday visit. Please visit the schedule page for the updated plans albeit understanding that this is always subject to change….

Regarding handicaps, with the high overlap of players between DOGs and Tee Set, together with the DOGs Committee, we have decided to simplify the keeping and posting of handicaps for the benefit of both sets of members by merging our handicap systems effective from next week. All DOGS and Tee Set weekly events will automatically be posted by our Secretary once reported meaning only rounds played by members outside of these 2 schedules need to be separately reported to us to maintain your handicaps at the correct index.

We have therefore renamed the database “Jakartagolf” and updated the connections in the website. For those who had an automatic connection set up for your personal handicap report you will need to update the connection to continue to link to your up to date information… please see Roger Finnie at a Sunday event if you need help with this.
