Sunday 2nd June 2019 Rainbow Hills

The Day

With the longer holiday period than normal, a lot of Tee Setters were away travelling or otherwise busy preparing for next weeks family activities resulting in a very small gathering on Sunday at the excellent Rainbow Hills. Our numbers were further depleted by 5 no-shows who seemed to mostly have been up late watching the Euro final or golf based on the apologies received.

The smallness of our group was not to take away from a fun day played on an almost empty course which led to a fairly quick round albeit with one group caught in the late afternoon shower and choosing to enjoy a couple of beers in the shelter before finishing their round.

We did welcome 3 newcomers and a warm Tee Set welcome was given to Genyu Nakamura, Pepi Kurniawan and Volker Hamann. All purchased shirts on the day and so we were able to capture each of them resplendent in their new Tee Set livery.

Many thanks to VP Ric Wymer for his efforts in coordinating the day’s registrations and scoring and the pictures can be found here.

The Play

The smallness of our group  was also  reflected in a smaller than usual prize giving with 3 prizes not being claimed on the day. However, we did have a full collection of fines with Michal Lubasik claiming both Most Strokes and a skirt, where he was joined by Tom Grace, and with Pepi Kurniawan taking home Monster Putter.

Some impressive Most Improved this week and both Genyu Nakamura and Michal Lubasik were ultimately to receive this prize after a small miscalculation by the President. Low Gross was taken home by President Roger Finnie whilst Low Putts went to Volker Hamann.

As the only player in B grade this week Audie Kaunang was guaranteed the Low Net prize after finishing his round whilst Simon Oxley took home A grade’s Low Net. Happiest player on the day was Michael Mueller who shot a career best net 65 to claim Low Net C.

Congratulations to all our winners and the detailed scoring can be found here: Form_ Current Results rainbow

Tee Set Match Play

With 3 week-ends remaining, excluding the week-end of Inter League, there are still 4 matches remaining to be played before the end of the current round. All of these are in the Emas bracket; please contact your opponent and get the match organized before the deadline of 30th June. As usual, we will adjudicate any incomplete match on the deadline so that the competition can continue as scheduled.

If you have played the match and the result is not updated on the site please make sure the result has been sent in by email to our Match Play Supremo, James Ross.

Next Up: Pondok Cabe 9th June 11.30 am

After our Jagorawi Toll swing over the last 5 weeks, this Sunday we will take the relatively short drive south to Pondok Cabe to make our first visit here in the current year.

The straight-forward layout and relaxed atmosphere is perfect to ease everyone back into it if you have been away over the holidays and a short drive for any who have stayed and golf hard taking advantage of the quiet toll-ways to get in some extra rounds.

Tee time is 11.30am and the price is Rp600,000 walking or Rp712,500 with a shared cart.

Please sign up here if you are interested to join us.
