This Sunday we head back to one of Jakarta’s finest courses and one of Tee Set’s most popular venues, Cengkareng, home for Tee Set’s Monthly Medal for 2019.
In addition to being the 9th Monthly Medal of 2019, this week will also be the 2nd round of Cycle XI of the Tee Set Eclectic. With Cycle X winner, Matthew Powell, having departed Jakarta, we will definitely have a new winner: will it be another new name on the Trophy or will one of our past Champions rise to the occasion again.?
Whilst there is a lot to attract players for this week, we also welcome those who just wish to enjoy a pleasant trip across the rolling fairways, guided round by Cengkareng’s well trained caddies and then to sit and enjoy one of its famous Margaritas to cool you down afterwards.
If you are able to join us for a very reasonable Rp850,000 walking please sign up here. Tee time is 12pm as usual.
Sunday will see the final of the Tee Set Match Play Championship being played with either Inter-League Captain, Simon Oxley, or President, Roger Finnie, being crowned as the 2019 Champion. The winner will also be the recipient of the Ric Wymer Trophy presently held by 2018 champion, Jens Roestel.
Reminder: For those who would prefer not to walk, in addition to the hover boards to glide across the rolling fairways, Cengkareng has available a limited number of golf carts. If you wish to reserve one please contact the Golf reservations staff at Cengkareng directly. As the carts are limited in number and we do not have visibility to those already booked on the day, your Tee Set Committee is not involved to the reservation of the carts
2019 Tee Set Championships
Registrations now open
The 2019 Tee Set Championships will be held on Sunday 24th November 2019 at Matoa Nasional, just 2 months away!!.
This is the high-light event of the Tee Set calendar when we crown our Gross and Net Champions for 2019, recognize the year’s winners of our Monthly Medal, Knock-out and Eclectic events, thank our Sponsors, Committee and Secretaries for their support and generally celebrate another year of camaraderie and fun on the golf links of Jakarta with the post-golfing party of the year.

Based on previous years, expect a full 12 hours of fun as the party rocks until the course closes after having opened it at 5.30am for registrations ahead of a 7.ooam shot-gun start. Although details are still to be finalized, we expect the format and pricing to be in line with 2018 and more details will follow soon.
2018 saw a full field of over 100 players join and after the great turn-out recently for our World Cup and Anniversary Scramble events, we expect to reach our maximum limit of players again. To secure your place, please sign up here as soon as possible: 2019-tee-set-championship-registration/.
We will post each week an updated list of registered participants so you can check we received your registration and in the meantime, if there are any questions, please contact Roger Finnie, Ric Wymer or Bill Lloyd.
Sponsors
Tee Set is able to run its key events thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Thank you to our 2018/19 sponsors: Asian Tigers, Asia Serv, Hot-Hed, JS Luwansa Hotel, Kojo, Loesche, San Miguel, Schenck Process, Bintang Sub-sea, Samson Tiara, Mayapada Hospitals and Fugro; we hope you can come on board again for 2019/20.
However, we are always in need of some extra sponsors as we seek to upgrade the quality of the Championship and if you are able to offer some financial help to fund the Championship or other Tee Set events please contact Ric Wymer or Roger Finnie directly.
Election of the President
The Tee Set President is appointed by a vote of attendees each Championship and serves to the conclusion of the following year’s event. Whilst there is no term limit as to how long the President can remain in office for, so long as they keep being re-elected each year, having some new faces on the Committee and new ideas in the running of Tee Set ensures we keep the Society relevant and fresh for the members.
We would therefore like ask for nominations for the position of President for 2019/20 and also any expressions of interest to join the Committee. Please send your nominations to our master of the electoral process, Keith Miller at: keith.steuart.miller@gmail.com
Nominations will close 1 week before the Championships (17th November) to enable us to prepare the necessary voting slips and thank you to Keith for again assisting the Committee in coordinating the nominations and voting.
Finally, and as always, if nominating some-one other than yourself, please ensure the nominee is willing to stand!
