The Day
Despite managing the final round of an Indonesian Amateur world ranking event and some other big groups on the day, the Gading Raya team were very accommodating to our late booking and secured our usual 2 tee start at 11.30am for the 43 players who turned up on Sunday to enjoy their round. Encouraged by the starter several groups headed to the tee early only to find a small queue but we were to tee off on time and enjoy a smooth round apart from a wait at the turn for 4 flights which had got in ahead of us on the change over.
The recent rains had left the course quite wet and together with the strong breeze which blew for most of our round, it made conditions a little more challenging than usual which was reflected in the scores. However, the course played well and despite the heavy traffic, we were round in reasonable time. The breeze also kept the rain away with only a short shower interrupting the otherwise pleasant golfing weather.
A warm Tee Set welcome was given to Steven Conlin and a welcome back to Matthew Cherrett after 23 weeks. Many thanks to VP Ric Wymer who took care of the scoring and announcements and photos of the day are here.
The Play
No Monster Putter this week but a 3 way tie for both skirts and Most Strokes kept the treasurer happy. Oliver Fritz was joined by Michael Mueller and David Baglivo for the skirt photo and by Timo Karonen and Holger Molendyk for Most Strokes. Indah Dhaliwal secured First Par for Handicaps >=30 and Weera Limjirakajorn was Most Improved.
First Sandy went to Matthias Coessens, First Birdie to Chris Lever and Low Putts was won by Mick Mongold. Tim Knight and Simon Oxley couldn’t be separated for Low Gross so were both rewarded with the prize.
Our Low Net winners were Graham Parsonage who had the best round of the day, Andy Coop on a count-back from Matthew Cherrett and Aurelie Neufkens.
Congratulations to all our winners and detailed results are here: Gading 090220 Results

Tee Set will be entering a team in the 2020 JIL competition and so Captain Simon Reynolds is canvassing for players interested to join the team. An enjoyment of match-play is the main criteria and we will be seeking players from across the grades as a balanced team usually gives the best opportunity for success; the only limitation which may affect selection is that the handicap limit in JIL is set at 27 so players with a handicap higher than this will be restricted to claiming 27 strokes in the games (less of course the handicap of the lowest handicapped player in the game).
If you are interested to represent Tee Set in JIL please contact Simon directly on WhatsApp +6287882094706 or catch him at a Tee Set game and let him know. JIL will now start on 8th March 2020.
2020 Tee Set Schedule
Although all the same courses remain in March, we have had to rearrange the dates for each event due to course availability. Check out the latest schedule on the website.
Next Up: Imperial 11.55am Sunday 16th February 2020
Sunday sees us return to our local “K” klub, Imperial. Imperial’s layout is always a strong golfing challenge and the Club House offers excellent views over the course to enjoy along with the good service and your chosen refreshment.
Tee time is 11.55 a.m. and the price Rp995,000 with carts. We will need to provide names to the course on Saturday morning latest so please sign up as soon as you can to help us with the administration with Imperial. Those that can join us please sign up here.
Note: Given all the heavy rains recently, we have decided that we will play lift clean & place on the fairways only until the end of March unless announced separately before the commencement of any week’s games. The exception will be at Riverside for Inter-league where a decision with the other captains will be made on the day.
