Sunday 11th October 2020 Riverside

The Day

A slightly overcast and therefore cooler day greeted the 68 golfers who arrived for Sunday’s game at Riverside which saw Sunday’s regular Tee Set outing being held in parallel to the final round-robin games of this year’s Jakarta Inter-League matches. A slight breeze and the course playing well ensured some good scores were returned. A big thank you again to the Riverside team for all their arrangements to look after us.

Although several players headed out early, many took the opportunity to chill after the game and enjoy a refreshment or 2 later into the evening.

A warm welcome to our newcomer Salmon Titus Agung and welcome backs to William Daniel and Graham Pasonage after 74 and 32 weeks, respectively. Thank you to VP Ric Wymer for taking care of the scoring and prize-giving and to Jens Roestel for assisting with the morning arrangements.

The Play

No skirts this week but Michael Seabrook cleaned up on the other booby prizes with Monster Putter and Most Strokes, the latter shared with Timo Karonen. First Sandy was taken by Alastair Livingston whilst Bill Lloyd and Juju Juhaeriah shared First Birdie and Santi Miller was our flat stick hero for Low Putts.

Low Gross was shared between Simon Reynolds and Richard Mau whilst David Prosser took Low Net honours alongside Supachai Suesomboon (Christine’s card being a late submission so sorry you missed out) and Lis Wymer. A special call out to Graham Parsonage who showed no signs of rust after his layoff and to Lis who shot an excellent 92 to take reclaim the Wymer Cup!

Congratulations to all the winners and the detailed results are here: Riverside 1110 Results

Jakarta Inter-League

Final round wins for Tee Set who finished strongly after a slow start to finish a credible 4th overall, Pocksia who climbed to 2nd in the final table and to Cloggies, who repelled the challenge of Sandbaggers in the match of the top 2 entering the final round, to win the 2020 JIL. Thank you to everyone who turned out during the season and a reminder there will be the end of season scramble event on 1st November. The 2020 final table and all results are here: https://teesetgolf.wordpress.com/interleague/

In the skill prizes this round, the Lawton family cleaned up long drives and another Cloggie, David Jessup took home NTP as they cleaned up completely on the day.

Not unexpectedly, a few of our regular sponsors have also been challenged by the current situation are not able to renew so we are looking for a couple of new sponsors to ensure we can make the day run as smoothly as ever. Please contact Ric Wymer if you can help out at any level.

New President: Your Society Needs You!

With the existing President reaching his 4th Championship at the head of the Society, we are calling for new blood to step-up and take Tee Set forward. If you are willing to take on this prestigious position and wish to put your name in the hat for the election which will be held at the Championships, please contact our election convener, Keith Miller at keith.steuart.miller@gmail.com

Next Up: Rancamaya 18th October 2020

Our scheduled venue at Permata Sentul has a morning competition next Sunday and so prudence suggested a change in venue and we took the opportunity to make another visit to the excellent Rancamaya course where we can enjoy a challenging course and the cool Bogor air.

We have a 12pm tee time and the price is Rp850,000 with carts; for those interested to join us please sign up here as usualPlease note that the Rancamaya starter often lets us go off early if the course is empty so it is recommended to be there a little earlier than a little later.
