PRESIDENTS REPORT:

The new season was off to a fly with 43 golfers turning out to contest the monthly medal. The weather was overcast which suited the golfers backing up from a large night at the St Andrew’s Ball. A bit of late flight shuffling and it was off to the tee boxes 1 & 10. Golfers on Tee box 10 had a wait as three flights were in front of our start time pushing it back to nearly 12.30. Those off No 1 had a quick round with most back in the club house before the first flight off 10 made it home.

The round moved at a good pace once we were started. Speed of play is very important when you are part of a group of 40+ players, we all want to finish in daylight. Speaking of daylight there was daylight between the Low net winner, Sri, and 2nd place as there was daylight between low gross winner, Claudio, and 2nd place. Congratulations for a couple of fine rounds.

We have 2 new competitions this year with the league quarterly shield, a low net comp. The more you play the more chance you have of winning. The Big Bird award for most Albatrosses, Eagles and Birdies scored over the coming year. Make sure you note this number of feathers on your scorecard when returning it to Adhe. The Shield Leaders will be posted on WhatsApp later this week.

Special visitor this week was Richard Mau’s nephew, John, a young professional who mastered the Cengkerang course with a gross 65 and an eagle. See you next weekend for more challenges and fun on the lovely Imperial Course ( the President’s least favorite course lol).

There were some issues with MyGolf2U last weekend so always have a backup manual scorecard to avoid disappointment. Hopefully these glitches will be rare going forward. MyGolf2U is the clubs preferred scoring system for ease of use and speed and keeping handicaps up-to-date. So please download the app and use it.

Finally, I would like to welcome Sam Westen on the the committee as VP and in charge of the Tee Set Match Play and various other mundane tasks and we have Tom Grace returning to lead the Tee Set Match Play Team to victory.

The first 3 players to beat the President this year.

NEXT WEEK: IMPERIAL, REGULAR, STABLEFORD, WHITE and RED Tees. (Blue if you prefer) Register ASAP via MyGolf2U
