Behind the Times

This caveman solved his technical breakdown with a visit to the Apple Shop where they relieved me of a month’s pay which is the Apple way. Now up and functioning again let’s re-capture what was missed.

First off to Pondok Cabe, where the TeeSet gathered for the annal St Valentine 2 person Scramble an early highlight on the TeeSet Calendar. Most couples, at the instance of their better halves, made an effort to coordinate outfits the day. This made up for the complete lack of coordination once out on the golf course. Teh Photo above is of the male wallflower’s with only Geoff managing to find a lady to play with.

It was interesting playing off the reds all of a sudden a good drive puts you in wedge distance of the green. The cussing also disappears and The ladies love the feel of Valentine Day golf, chocolates, matching clothes and a subdued husband. The patron saint of courtly love. The girls cannot get enough of it and enjoy the chocolates and wines shared by the winners after the golf. Aah, Valentine, is there anything you can’t do? And the simple answer to that is no, as Valentine, in golf terms, has the complete game. Val, as he’s know down the club, can sweet stroke his way around the course with the best of them, playing low hcp golf like a helicopter husband dotting on a bride, making the score. Val on weekends and boys trips away likes to bring out the other personality. He is also the patron saint of Beekeepers. We all know what beekeepers do they make honey and we all know what the best by-product of honey is, mead. Mead is what men drank before the Anker Brewery was built, hence the logic. Val blesses drunken golfers on Valentine’s Day. We’re not done with Val yet, he is also known to have a bit of an issue on the course as a result of a few too many meads and the toys come flying out of the pram and the scorecard is a shocker. He is also the patron saint of epilepsy.

To the prizes

Valentine Scramble winners for the second year in a row Velma and Hitoshi with a 64.5. Well done you two.

Well done Jane and Roger for a close second. They also took out the award for best dressed couple and Roger for best tan line.

Steve looking a little disappointed with 3rd place or is it that Rosita took the wine and the chocolates? Anyways well done for being in a comfortable 3rd position.

We are missing a photo of the same sex winners on the day, but your scribe knows who they were. It was Richard and Nicolas they hit a scintillating 69 off the stick.

Valentine’s epileptics in last place Bags & Mr Mee. Well done, sort of.

A glorious day with no rain, plenty of camaraderie both on and off the course and the wine, beer and whisky flowed until late.
