This will be a very brief report due to a couple of things. 1 being vey busy at the moment; 2 off to play golf in the Josef Fuchs memorial today.
A small but highly skilled and competitive field turned out for Sunday’s Monthly Medal. Ex-President Thwaites was keen to get amongst the beers early but a stern warning from current President left him dry not high. Big Ed was amongst his cups well before tee. I had overindulged the evening before at Poksia and polished the evening off with a few large whiskies left me in a particularly fragile state of both mind and body.
What happened that day well the first 9 was pretty slow. Diarmuid chipped in fro a second hole birdie which he convinced himself that would put him in the money. Several hours later we had a dirty Diarmuid at the presentations. Alessandro had a wonderful round of bogie golf. Missing 1 metre putts to nail the bogie in effortless fashion. Many of the bogies were achieved playing from parallel fairways. So if you are looking to be a bogie golfer always consider using other fairways besides the one the club presents for you. It’s not how you get to the hole it’s how you bogie the hole. Alessandro had an issue it seems with a stump/root no relief, no relief no root.
A well placed shot on the 5th by Diarmuid saw him up against the face of a fairway bunker. This will stuff him and maybe even break a wrist or at least an iron I thought as I calmly put my second shot in the water from a very good lie. Diarmuid takes his 7 iron clunks it out of the bunker straight as a die 140 metres. Heard about that shot for quite awhile. To make matters worse he nailed the sandy par. And picked up cash mainly due to Richard forgetting to tell Adhe about his earlier sandy par. Remember folk you need to tell Adhe about these achievements if you want the money and your photo in this illustrious publication.
Some who’s photo we will be seeing a bit later is one Bill Lloyd, a golfer I saw hacking his way around this course on Saturday. His early departure Saturday evening saw him fresh and raring to go Sunday and go he did tearing up the course like it was a mini golf layout. Hitting it long pitching and putting display that had to be seen to be believed and taking the coin from his playing partners.
To the winners

Bill takes the MM and the biscuits for low putts 29 with the flat stick and a net 65 woohoo go Billy Biscuits.

the birdie Twins, Jens & Simon, on the first hole 1&10 and low gross to Simon with a gross 75. I think we’ll have him off the blacks next month.

Sam slams one down the middle for long drive 243m. Boom

Siti takes the ladies long drive with a booming 130m down the middle

Jude takes nearest the pin 6.30 metres from the hole to put himself in 3 putt range. Well done.

Diarmuid takes the lolly for a wonderful Sandy par on the 5th Alessandro made a bogie.

Two weirdos spotted on the course. If you see them stay well clear.
