Jakarta Interleague at Imperial

As we all know by now when TeeSet play Interleague excitement quite intense prevails amongst our fans spread out across the globe. So we have joyous news for our fans out there who wait for the monthly results to come in. The glorious, victorious TeeSet Team had an outstanding victory against the Cloggies who fielded a very strong team. With Captain Sam back to sort the team out and his able VC Dean to assist we were looking good on paper and pretty good as a team as we went a bit freestyle with the uniform this weekend. This is not an episode of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy this is about golf. So it matters not a jot what you wear as long as you bring your game. The TeeSet lads showed up and they brought some pretty good golf with them.

The team consisted of Sam, Daniel, Peter, Craig, John, Dean, Douglas & Michael. The games ebbed back and through as the team battled it out around the fairways and greens of Imperial. Daniel continued on his merry way with another solid win. Sam’s opponent got off to a fly, but over the course of the round Sam wound in a 5 hole disadvantage to go down by one. A great chase. The team of Peter and Craig got the job done in fine fashion with a rather comfortable win, but needed a solid mid-section of the round to build that victory off. Dean and John had solid rounds to take the points. Dougie had the task of carrying the President around and did a wonderful job of getting the team into a winning position off the back of 3 birdies in a row and a par. In what had been a close game after 7 holes, Dougie then just blew it a part with the magical 4 hole run to knock the wind out of the Cloggies sail and set us up for a victory, which he finalised with a half on the second last hole from a difficult position. I was there to offer words of encouragement and lollies to sustain the energy of the guy carrying us to victory. Lollies are important.

This round TeeSet walked away with an 8/2 team win. Some much needed points and moves us into a clear 3rd spot and having closed the gap on first and second. We are awaiting final calibration of Sunday’s scores but we are definitely back in the hunt. Next round is at Riverside.

The team stayed late with bottles of wine, beer and whisky being consumed as we celebrated into the evening. The celebration may have continued but the venue shut. This meant the President moving to the Cloggies table to pinch some beer then onto Wolves to get into their whisky. Now I know what a bin chicken feels like. This what one looks like

Let’s get onto the prizes as it was also a normal day for a lot of non-JIL players and many JILs joined the regular TeeSet day. Paying Interleague and TeeSet Fees does help our end of the year kitty.

Zip-a-di-do-day ZEBEDEE TAY takes best Stableford with a nice 46 points. A few more games and he might earn selection in the Glorious Victorious TeeSet team. Also welcome to the club hope to see you soon.

Tied for low gross was the gun for hire, Axel with the man of many languages, Fernando. Both had a pretty handy 76 off the stick. Well done lads.

When you are chipping and putting like Douglas was on Sunday there’s a good chance you will be in the money. With 25 taps of the flat stick he takes this weeks low putts.

There was a feedback request by Imperial which I posted on Sunday please take the time to complete as feedback is valuable to clubs in managing speed of play (it was slow, very slow) and keeping the bar open with well priced beers.

Next weekend TeeSet DOGS Krakatua weekend

This is a two day event, last bookings today. There will be an array of prizes to be one and a great evening on Saturday night with Karaoke and other fun stuff. Just don’t let the Presidents of either group near the singing box, why ruin a good night.

Make sure you get down in plenty of time you may wish to have a meal before the round so don’t arrive at midday and expect to be able to do this. Mr Google MAps will help get you there in tim. Also most likely you will not be able to check into the hotel before teeing off, you can ask but don’t get upset if you have to wait until after the round. The world will not end ( Krakatua is miles away). That evening party and dinner at the golf club in our private room. BYO booze, beers most likely available but other adult beverages maybe not. Don’t stay up too late as Sunday tee off is an ungodly 8am.

The comp is a 2 day best Stableford totals. On day 2 the leaders will be paired together to increase the pressure. Day one you can select your flights by letting John or Rod know by Friday morning latest. Sunday you will be paired by Saturday’s performance. Prize giving after the round on Sunday.
