I failed to generate the Riverside report due to writer’s block having churned out one of these every week for quite a while, the keyboard, last week, stared back blankly at me. Anyway back on my meds now and ready to plunge back in.
Firstly we had an excellent turn out 2 weeks back at Riverside where a group of 48 golfers took to the challenging fairways of the Greg Norman designed course. Many mastered the dog legs of death on the 3rd, 6th and 7th and some didn’t I fall into the later category, having failed on all three this time. I think I may try alcohol next time as I approach these holes, comfortably numb is better than a foul mouthed cussing President.
With a large crowd speed of play is essential and TEESETTERS did well with all groups back with plenty of daylight. This was important as we had prizes to distribute and a taste roast dinner awaited many TeeSetters at the Bull and Vine later that evening. Speaking of

They are our latest sponsor and we plan to host an after game succulent roast dinner there on a monthly basis. As with all of our sponsors they would appreciate TeeSet’s support in their business endeavours. Keep an eye out for their special offers and remember them when you are next planning a night out.
We had a surprise winner at Riverside but had to leave early for a family function so we had to find second place as Rosita with 50 Stableford points was OB by prize time. Well done Rosita next time relax and pick up the prize the family will wait.
To the prizes

Craig gets his swing back with a masterful 40 Stableford points to take first place

Claudio with 81 off the stick takes low gross. Well done mate.

The rangy Canadian, Ezra, takes first birdie on the 8th. The easy dog leg but still hard to birdie due to a challenging green.
Due to a camera malfunction Richard Mau will not be posted here winning low putts. You can go back through countless previous postings and choose your favorite photo of Richard winning this. Well done Richard.
Last Sunday Pondok Cabe

After a big turnout the previous week we struggled to get 6 flights for Cabe. Anyways those that showed up where not disappointed with the course in pristine condition and the greens nearly perfect. The weather was perfect with a stiffening breeze in the afternoon cooling the players and testing your irons in the swirling conditions. The Presidential Group teed off in the last group and made a wonderful start with 2 shots going OB and one just past the ladies’ tee luckily the President stepped up. After that we all settled down and got into a bit of a par rhythm. Which lasted 5 or 6 holes. My caddy was a bit deaf which went with his age, he used to play marbles with Suharto when they were both little boys. My wife asked for 2 senior caddies, i believe she got the one with experience and I got the one with age. He was looking hopefully at the electric carts and his glaucoma glazed eyes brimmed with tees as I informed him we were on Shank’s pony today. The old Digger did well and was normally not much further than 100 metres behind me, always with one of the three clubs I was contemplating using in his hand, he was a bit stiff to rarely get it right but he tried. A lot better than the previous weeks caddy at Riverside who did not try at all.
Back in the club house we were amongst the cups and the beer was delightfully cold, the food was promptly served and Mr Mee the man from the Moon was back playing golf with us after a European vacation as was Max sans Sri who was still a bit jet lagged from the trip from Germany. Rod sneaking in a cheeky Sunday round on his home course and earlier presented the little Dog to George for wonderful deeds the previous afternoon. Speaking of George where did he and Geoff disappear to after the game?
The beers and wine flowed until late then it was off for a few nightcaps at the Finnies. Glorious day for golf and glorious company. Let’s get to the winners.

Axel had a pretty good round and wanted all the money but we only paid him for best Stableford with a well played 40 points. If we paid him more we would’ve had to report him to the Tax Office.

Alessandro returns from holidays and immediately returns to the winners circle with best gross 85.

Achim takes the sandy par money on the index 1 hole where the President managed a penalty par.
Other Stuff
We have a new sponsor Wine Cartel who will be providing a weekly lucky draw of a bottle of wine. They have great offers on via tokopedia and can be found by typing winecartel into tokopedia search engine or their website https://winecartel.id/ . Once again let’s show support to our sponsors

Important Stuff, Birthday Scramble
After hitting a hurdle in organising the course and then re-scheduling to another date just to discover it is a religious holiday really threw a spanner in the Scramble event but with some great work and help from the committee and Adhe we have been able to find a course that will accomodate our large group with a shotgun start. The date is the 8th of September and the location is now Pangkalan Jati the birthplace of TeeSet so a fitting location.
This Sunday at Glorious Gunung Geulis
Golfing at Gunung Geulis is a must play location. Without a doubt the premier location for golfing in the hills. This course offers spectacular vistas, some challenging holes where a smart goler will beat a big hitter everytime. Our last trip there saw the entire group raving about conditions which were nothing short of perfect and scores reflected that. The caddies are amongst the best trained in the region and listening to their advice whilst putting is generally a good idea. The clubhouse has all the facilities a golfer wants with well priced food and beverages. The recent road upgrade to the clubhouse now makes access from Jakarta easier than ever before. Sign up on MyGolf2U and come and play the premier mountain course with TeeSet you won’t be disappointed.
Kind regards
The President
