Gunung Geulis, translated into English means beautiful mountain. I know this, as near Eli’s house, in Sunda, is a similarly named lump and for many years it was a goal to climb it but each time I headed out I would get turned around and messed up in the valleys and creeks and the beautiful mountain remained elusive. To solve this problem I bought myself one of those new fangled flying machines, a drone. Now fly with me to the other Gunung Geulis https://youtu.be/onpKuz-2rxM?si=EAavPE2DCo98NYzd (good view at 2.38m and 5.13m). Located just 30 minutes from Giri Gerhana vila construction starts soonish.
What has this got to do with TeeSet’s trip to Gunung Geulis Golf Club? Well nothing, in the world of journalism this is known as filler. Used to padded out articles where the writer has little idea of what went on and it has now emerged that filler is more interesting than the facts, thanks to the rise of social media and the fake news factories in China, Russia and Cipete. Ooh nice filler Mr President.
Back to Sunday a small but elite field took on the challenges of Gunung Geulis. Word filtering in from the Hills was that course was at its challenging best and golfers struggled to match or even better their handicaps. There are 3 true mountainside courses in the Bogor/Sentul area, Rainbow Hills and Permata Sentul being the other 2 but this is the jewel in the crown. It is a shame more TeeSetters do not take on the challenge of this course. Speaking of shame, I was missing, but my excuse is not as lame as the rest of you, I was attending a friends birthday where a group of non-golfing friends were enjoying a succulent Sunday smorgasbord followed by overindulgence at The EP beach Party. Needed to give the back a rest in the lead up to Bill Lloyd’s save the tigers 45 hole Jags stroll next week. The dozen beers and a packet of fags at EP is an important part of my 45 hole taper training regime. Oops more filler.
Let’s go to the winners before I lose my line of thought. The acid 80s have played havoc with that. Back in line Mr President.
The Winners

Hitoshi takes the Stableford win with 35 points, taking the title King of the Hill. Well done!

Low gross Holger with a dashing 89 off the stick.

JP with a handy 33 slaps of the flat stick was the best on the greens. Those mountain lies are deceiving.

Bill “The Birdman” Lloyd takes first birdie on #4. No birds were hurt.

Ale takes sandy par on #7
Well done weekend winners
