Religious duties, home duties and eye surgeries may have contributed to a smaller than usual turnout for this month’s medal did not mean a drop in the quality of the field assembled. Half of the field played to their handicaps or better. Our lady golfers have dropped in number, has this something to do with the increasing costs at the golf courses? Cengkareng has managed to keep their price under 1 million and with their 2 for 1 happy hour prices is probably the best value for the Jakarta weekend golfer. Keep this in mind for when the 27th rolls around.
It was pretty tight at the top of the leaderboard at the Medal this week. With early clubhouse leader Bill “the Chairman” Lloyd confidently quaffing a few post round frothies awaiting the return of the rest of the field. Then they slowly appeared on the MyGolf2U app as The Chairman was pushed from 1st to 3rd by Tom and then Steve. Nett scores of 64, 66 and 67 and George’s 69 indicate a well executed game of golf. The word out was the fairways were rolling out, the greens were very true and the bunker sand was how it should be, sandy.
Let’s get to this week’s winners as I have an eyeball tune up looming.

A nett 64 is what you need to hit to take the Medal. Presented here by Geof, the sponsor of the medal, to the winner Mr. Steve Lowry. Well done on the round. You now qualify for the play off for the Medalist’s Medal in November. To improve on his glorious day Steve also took nearest the pin one metre.

Anirudh once more takes the low gross with a masterful display of golf with a sub par round of 71, capped off with the long drive 265m. Well done.

Eagles are rare3 birds on the golf course and what is rarer is when two players in the same group get it on the same hole (18). Well done Simon and Joe. You will always be Aussie Joe to me.

Jaako takes first birdie on the first hole. Good golfing.

The apprentice is now the master Bill picks up the lollies for low putts 26

Bunker Bob blasts ball from bunker for Sandy Par. Well done Bob (17th)
