It was indeed a triumph for the brave soldiers of Tee Set who defended our honour and ensured we never missed a weekend. It was looking dire in the morning. Early casualties put us at a distinct disadvantage, with Bogor Raya applying a reciprocal tariff and bumping up the fee to a wopping 1.825 juta – a possible Tee Set record. The Commentariat was on fire. But the brave were not deterred. The sun was still shining, the battlefield looked magnificent. Various discounts were still on offer, reinforcements and ample rations were loaded on the carts, and so the round began, led by our Committee Chair, both the Whispering and Singing Past Presidents and former VP George.
James was back sporting a vintage 2010 Tee Set shirt, still in mint condition, prompting a call from our glorious immediate past President from his hospital bed that it was last worn when James had an afro. James denied ever having an afro but confessed he did perm in the 80s!

We met little resistance on the first nine and were joined late by a mystery trio (Marganda, Amirul and Adzian) who we lost again at some point, but there were growing signs that the various Tee Set weathermen were indeed on the mark. As we approached the clubhouse at the halfway point, as if on cue, the lightning siren blared and the heavens opened, forcing a retreat into barracks, where we were all well served while it bucketed down.
At this point, we suffered a couple more casualties, discharged with full honours on account of their notable service and calls for them to be elsewhere. Our own band of brothers, Axel and Jochen, carried on their own battle within the battle, complete with impressive sledging(a type of psychological warfare), Well done Jochen! Nanin, Craig and Jari steadily marched forward. Bill, Bags, Terry, Stan, James and Sepand represented a strong US contingent and fought courageously alongside their brothers and sisters from other mothers and misters.
Of course, Tee Set emerged victorious and glorious. Nanin won the day with 37 points, Terry and Craig shared Low Gross with 87 and Sepand snared the first birdie. Adhe was a star as usual calling the shots from the Command Centre.

Will Tee Set return to Bogor Raya on a Sunday? Let’s see, for now we celebrate a victory of sorts. The Commentariat will no doubt offer constructive suggestions and life will go on whatever we do.

The Winners

Nanin with 37 Stableford points takes the coin with a well played round.

87 was enough last Sunday to win you the low gross. Maybe a few troo many beers were consumed during the rain break? Well done Craig & Terry

With the surf season just around the corner Sepand drops in for a first birdie on the 6th. Good golfing.

TeeSetters checking their HPs and beer temp in the apres golf warm down. After sport warm downs are essential and it is recommended by sports professionals that 4 to 6 beers is the required amount to turn a terrible day on the course into a glorious round. Remember to load up your golf bag with San Miguel product before a round to avoid disappointment.
