First Round of the Interleague Season at Jags

Eight teams arrived at Jags on Sunday morning with a clean slate for the first round on the new season. Two over the field favorites evaporated like icing sugar in a spring shower, when the heavens opened. The rest battled on for the glory of the teams they represented. Full results will be published by the JIL management shortly in the meantime let’s stick to TeeSet’s Sunday adventures.

We had quite a few non interleague players so there were a few flights playing under slightly less pressure so much so that one group wandered off the New Course to finish their game on the back 9 of the Old Course. Meanwhile the 2 singles and 3 pairs went into battle with The Sandbaggers. As per usual Daniel got the job done in his singles game, with 39 stableford points and a gross 83. Whereas Adam had a very narrow loss from a Sandbagger who turned on the gas over the last few holes to nudge past Adam. Captain Dean & Viboon had a comfortable win in their pairing, stretching the lead over the last couple of holes. Viboon also took the day’s long drive trophy.

Arnold & Jeff struggled with a pair of Sandbaggers with rather high handicaps and in the conditions that found them starting many holes a shot down, a bridge too far, but fought to the finish. Andy & Michael, through the determination of Andy, drew level after being a few holes down with 6 to play, but the inability of Michael to sink a few putts let the game slip away ( I now know the meaning of wake in fright as those missed putts haunt my sleeping hours). At the end of the day Sandbaggers 6/4 so a narrow loss that will inspire the squad onto bigger and better things this season. We have not yet begun to fight. Glorious TeeSet!

Arriving back in the clubhouse JIL had put on some beers for each of the teams, unfortunately the non JIL TeeSetters had returned early and had finished them. This rubbed salt into what had been a tough day for a few of us. Luckily the Wolves had disappeared, in a puddle of water, so we made off with their beer. A silver lining in every grey cloud, or is that a gray cloud?

Tin Cupper and TeeSet Chairman made for the door and let today’s author holding the baby when it came to TeeSet prizes so let’s get on to them.

Wet weather fan Jens takes the day with 37 Stableford points and captained the Sandbaggers to victory in a non-playing captains role.

A gross 84 was good enough on the day for Carter to take the low gross.

Emil takes the first birdie with one on his 3rd hole.

The Jewel Of the West Kedaton Golf & Country Club

This Sunday we head back to Kedaton, one of the few Sundays we get to pay less than a Rp 1 Million in green fees. This enables us to blow the budget at the apres golf clubhouse. The greens are in great condition and the fairways are true with a bit of upkeep underway. Reports in this week is that you should not miss this day. To get there it is an easy drive down the Merak Toll one stop after Karawaci. This course is not a favorite among the slicers and duck hookers as water will test your patience. But due to the water golfers seem to straighten it up a bit here.

Anyways get on down and sign up on MyGolf2U this is also the last weekend of the first round of the Club Match Play so sign up or concede.
