New member Heykki, welcome aboard.
The monthly medal has passed and yet again the report is late. What possible excuse could the scribe of this dubious sports sheet possible have this time? The dog ate my computer? I was waiting for 2 more score cards to be added to the MyGolf2U app? DOGE were investigating his apparent leaning to PGA over the Trump supported LIV? Market rebounds saw clients piling into the market? Or just apathy? Well it was work, fighting with banks (still ongoing) and family. Finally I have time to get the feet under the desk and present as best remembered the events of the last two weeks.
First, we go to Kedaton where a good crowd of nearly 30 golfers ventured out to this flat track not far off the Cilegon Toll. The oversized corruption mansion has been finished and Gurav has moved out of the neighbourhood since we last visited. TeeSet was going off tee boxes 1 and 10. A few flights of unorderly golfers were trying to jump the queue but the girls put them in their place and we were away a few minutes behind schedule. Leading the way were Bagus Jaakko and Trisna, the latter 2 in a Matchplay. The Finns, Daniel & Michael followed. With Heykki settling into a rhythm where he managed to find the water with gay abandon (in the pre-1970s meaning of gay). Meanwhile Daniel and Jari settled into a good groove with Jafri having a few chipping issues preventing a good score whilst Daniel was parring with the odd bogey. Michael was there to observe. There was a lot of static electricity in the air. I thought I might just slip that in.
The ladies managed to keep their balls dry and all turned in good score cards. On the turn we were sat down for 20 minutes whilst a flight or 2 snuck in front. Players on the other side of the course included Carter and Andy. Andyput in a good round and we’ll save Carter for later. Axel took control at the start as things looked like getting out of control with the starter and the late Kedaton bookings. The weather was fine, the fairways varied from mushy to hard to the point a late lift clean and place announcement was made. To prove the point on the 18th Daniel hit a very good drive down the left side of the fairway and the ball was never to be seen again, undoubtedly plugged out of eye sight. The dry season will improve this course.
Back at the club house it was into the beers before showering as the change rooms were packed with the mid afternoon finishers who stayed for some bakso or a frothy or 2. After ding 1 bottle the waitress deemed I had had enough and presented me with a bill. I sent her back to get more. Thanks Heykki, Jari and Steve for the beers, my shout next time. They want you out of that place ASAP.
On to the winners

39 Stableford points gets Rachel the prize money at Kedaton. Well done the only golf to equal or break par on the day.

Low gross 78 to Carter and the first Sandy

Bagus gets the first birdie on the 3rd hole. His better half Trisna took Jaakko down in the matchplay. So a good day all round.

At least the putter was working and the swearing. Low putts 28

New Members. Top to Bottom. David, Joan and a welcome back to Alberto & Jason. See you all soon.

The Play
The day was very warm as we headed to our starting points and stayed that way for half the day. Cloud build up cooled the day down after 2pm. Those driving around in carts may have missed the intensity of the early hit, bad luck.
Cengkareng is never fast but starting on the first tee box was the place to be today with players playing the course in order finishing in at least 20 minutes quicker than the corresponding flight. There was some good golf being played as the fairways had a fair bit of roll in them and there were some big drives. This made hitting greens on the par 5s with the second shot achievable, even for this battler. However no Albatrosses were recorded, we must lift our efforts.
After a few months getting use to a new hip Patrick hit a bit of a purple patch with par run on the front nine matched by back to back birdies on the back 9 to pick up 42 Stableford points oh how things could have been except for the multiple lip outs. There were 5 players who managed 40 or better Stableford points on the day. Steve Cox also had 42 points. Axel had a subpar first 9 and managed to pick up 40 points as did Trisna. Overall 15 players made 36 points or more. Well done golfers. Michael Mueller had a win in the Matchplay over Vijay and that finishes the first round of the Matchplay. The new draw will be released shortly, everyone is still alive you have just been sorted into winners and losers. Next round begins the sudden death.
The Winners

A run of 6 glorious pars in a row, helped John edge himself clear of a tightly packed leaderboard and emerge victorious with 44 Stableford points.

Anirudh was kicking himself after wrong club selection resulted in a bogey, but he recovered to take low gross with a well played 71. Also won first birdie.

Long drive goes to new member Joan with a 245m special. Well done.

Rosie took the ladies long drive with a 168 metre boomer.

Trisna wins the nearest the pin ladies with 155cm. Well done. The caddy witness on the day did not bother measuring men’s. May have been Patrick.

First Sandy on the 9th to the Ex-sing Pres, Craig.

Another new member Dave ties Claudio for low putts 32.
