We had a full complement of TeeSeters on course for the Monthly Medal at Cengkareng, with 48 sign ups. Weather conditions were helpful for the foot brigade as we were treated to an overcast day with a light breeze blowing from the ocean. Or was it the kitchen? There were even 4 spots of rain, I counted them. We gathered, awaiting starters orders, in the clubhouse discussing techniques and newly acquired yips. The first flights got the nod from the starter 15 minutes before Tee time so in expectation of an early start players moved to their allocated starting hole. We finally managed to tee off 5 minutes late.
The usual hold ups at the usual holes, but after a pretty normal slowish time for the first 9, the speed picked up a bit for the last 9. All back home with ample daylight. There is not a lot a TeeSetter needs to do in a round of golf. They have their caddy to point out the direction of any wayward balls and find them for you. They are also good at reading the greens and handing you clubs as they rake bunkers and repair pitch marks. All we have to do is write down a score, better yet put it into MyGolf2U, and count putts and mark sandy pars, birdies, etc. Not too difficult? Well for this fella it is a task too many. I returned to the club house fuming 2 missed sandy pars, one would have been a double sandy par if I could putt a ball just 6 foot into a hole. Those misses meantno photo in the blog yet again, no winnings to offset the financial burden golf is placing on the family. As I pondered my misfortune it hit me, I had sandy parred the first hole. You can’t fix stupid. There you go a new verb “to sandy par”
Around the course there were a few battles going on to see who would advance to the next round of the TeeSet Matchplay Championship. With Velma & Bags both comfortably prevailing over their towering opponents Peter & Dean. Alastair back partnering Kim around the course for the first time in a long time had a most enjoyable round and missed the monthly medal by the longest of countbacks. Kim also had a glorious round. Brian ( From our best brewing company San MIg) had a great round with a large sub par score and was recounting stories with his group late into the evening. Riccardo is one of the club’s improving players and continued to show improvement with 41 Stableford points. Overall 16 players had 36 Stableford points or more. A glorious day of golf.

Hari Merdeka 80 Tahun Jagorawi Z-9 August 17
On the 17th of August we plan to have a 2 Person Texas Scramble on the Z-Course of Jagorawi. The club is giving us the whole 9 hole course only for Teeset. The playing format will be playing the first nine holes from the red tee boxes and the second 9 from the white tee boxes (the ladies have the option to play all 18 holes from the red tee boxes) The start will be a shotgun at 12.30 pm. The green fee on this Public Holiday Sunday will be Rp 1.045.000. We will name that days game as Mr. Zakhir Memorial Tournament, who was the former owner and maker of the Z-Course, which was designed by his daughter. He is also burried in the middle of the Jagorawi Golf Courses.
