Dear Tee Setters,
We are nearing the end of another excellent year of golf and fun involving any number of successful events.
Amongst the major features and achievements of the year have been:
Finding and establishing our magnificent new home for the Tee Set Monthly Medal at Imperial Golf Klub with a K where we also introduced our own eclectic event, inspired by the DOGS but with our own twist to give higher handicappers a chance to shine.
Finishing on top of the Interleague Competition for the first time since 2006, thanks to the captaincy of Ric, the representation by over 20 different Tee Setters during the year and many outstanding personal performances.
Celebrating our 32nd anniversary in style with the “Scramble at Sawangan”, a weekend of laughs and some spectacular golf – when we also managed to support the magnificent Yayasan HOG to the tune of 15 million roops while we were about it.
A quite brilliant full weekend event at Rancamaya and the “R” Hotel where more than 50 Tee Setters and their families played, danced, sang, swam, ate and drank as appropriate – and until they could do it no more.
And now we are coming up to the very biggest event in the Tee Set calendar, the Championship of course, this year on Sunday 29th November at Matoa Nasional – and with a tee-time of 7pm. All registered Tee Setters are eligible to play and those with more than 5 games played since the 2014 Championship are also eligible to compete for the main Net prizes.
Last year’s Championship was stellar and will be hard to beat but we are going to give it a real go and try to at least equal it, so we will stick with the winning formula – but with maybe a few tweaks.
That formula we mentioned includes:
The new edition Tee Set shirt and goody bag
Regular handicap event (and NO novelty holes so don’t bring your pool cue)
4 player flights
Shotgun start
All the usual array of Tee Set prizes – but doubled for the day
Trophies, medal and heaven knows what else for the winners of 20 categories
Hole-in-One and Nearest to the Pin Prizes
Enough food and drink to sink an Italian cruise liner
Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful sponsors – and your own weekly contributions during the year, we are holding down the participation fee for Tee Setters to just 1 million roops, payable on the day – surely the bargain of the Jakarta golfing year once again.
Finally, as, unlike some, we don’t like to pack you in like sardines, numbers will be limited to about 100 so that we have a reasonable chance of getting around in 5 hours. Don’t hang about therefore in getting your flight registration(s) in here.
