With the management starting off a seemingly endless procession of Koreans from tee box 10 we were, with an unexpectedly high 46 Tee Setters showing up at Pondok Cabe, left to get everyone away from just tee box 1 – and 12 groups at 8 minute intervals takes a while.
While a pain, we were lucky to get in at all at short notice we suppose and the patience and good attitude which is the trademark of Tee Setters – and a willingness to eat and drink and blather to while away the time. meant that it was a fun day despite this, though about half our group had, perhaps understandably, left by the time we got around to prizes.
All this did mean, however, that Tee Set did very nicely in raising a nice sum towards the very large expenses involved in the upcoming 2013 Tee Set Championship.
A third of the group were ‘Welcome Back’ players and some such as Frank Wilson, Mike Taylor and Jeff Leaver we haven’t seen in a very long time. And Mike flew off immediately after the round, so see you next year, Mike!
New players to welcome were Mark Stuart, and Clint and Karen Armstrong. We are sure you enjoyed yourselves enough to show up again next week, especially Karen who needs to pass the Monster Putter monkey on to the next winner.
The Play
We do believe that Deddy’s net 68 and the Low Net award was his best performance ever and, as was said at the time, Deddy is no sandbagger so well done to him. Low Gross to Simon Reynolds for a fine 79 was immediately followed by an urgent invitation tor him to join the Interleague team next week, where he and Sam Westen would be nightmare opposition for anyone.
A couple of those Tee Set Matchplay Championship matches also got played with Bob Fleischmann turning Paul Evison over 3 up, while Alastair Livingston took until the 19th hole. literally, to overcome the challenge of a fired up Jan Janda. Well done all, not least because this releases the Matchplay logjam.
Finally, just two skirts today for the grievous crime of failing to reach the ladies’ tee, though only Keith Miler hung around long enough to cough up his fine – and be pictured in the full regalia while complaining volubly that the President of Everything had chosen the wrong week to remember to bring the kit along.
The very lovely Valerie Svobodova, as winner of the Most Strokes award, snuck into the picture to provide a yardstick as to just how well Keith brushes up in the regalia.

Tee Set 30th Anniversary Shirts
The shirts we had made for our 30th Anniversary event proved to be something of a hit with Tee Setters – and those who didn’t order originally have inundated us with hopeful “orders” for their own.
As we have had to put in an order for five of them “lost” somewhere in the supply chain, adding some more has not been an issue. But please check this list if you think you have put in an order and not received a shirt as there is another week before the restocking arrives with our supplier, and perhaps another week for the embroidering to be done. Let us know here if you have an issue like your order not being on there.
2013 Tee Set Championship
In the near future, Tee Setters who have had played 5 or more matches since the last Tee Set Championship will receive an e-mail invitation to register for play in this year’s Championship. To secure your own place and preferential “Tee Set regulars price”, you will need to register within 1 week of the invitation; after that the balance of the limited places available will be thrown open to everyone. Please make a note for your diary, 24th November 2013.
Next Sunday
The Interleague team are at Jagorawi for the 7th and final round of the Interleague for which Ric will be in touch while for the rest of us, we visit our former home course at Pangkalan Jati. Very reasonable Green Fees etc excluding cart at 375,000; last time we played the cart fee was 100,000 per player if shared. Please register on “Yes, I’m Playing!” If you intend joining in the fun.
We are relieved to say that tee off at PJ will be from both tee boxes 1 and 10 after the challenges of Pondok Cabe and, with the Interleague team engaged at Jagorawi new Course, we expect the numbers to be rather less demanding this week.
See yah, Sunday

Hi Ric, I believe there are two match play played on Sunday. Brenda was asked by Keith to make a note below the players score: 1. Bob Fleischmann vs Paul Evison, 3/2 2. Jan Janda vs somebody, who at about 4PM they said they were tight and don’t know what to do next. Cheers, Cucu
