Next up: Kedaton, Sunday 5th March

KedatonIt is as long ago as last October when we last visited Kedaton – 31 Kilometers out on the Merak Tol and a firm Tee Set favourite

Despite that 31 Km, getting there and back from South Jakarta has never been less than a dream since the opening of the South-West section of the outer ring road (JORR) a couple of years ago, with journey times to shame the geographically much closer Jagorawi Tol courses.

***** IMPORTANT WARNING AND ADVICE *****

One tricky thing about Kedaton however is making sure that you take the correct turn off from the Merak Tol heading West, with the bleached bones of those who miss it generally only found several days after their mistake.

So take the far left toll booth, and ONLY the far left toll booth at Km 31, otherwise you WILL NOT be able to get across the toll to Kedaton but be doomed  to wander the Western Badlands for eternity instead. If you are taxi-ing then keep a close eye on your driver and guide him as necessary.

Senayan and area should be clear by Sunday of the Saudi Arabian Raja and his entourage who should have all cleared off to Bali the previous day – but keep yourself informed for possible tail-end issues.

*****************************************************

charmingKedaton is one of the very few courses left that allow you to stretch your legs and walk the course, a treat for many though in fact not for your scribe today.

So get fit and save money too, this is a far better economic proposition than paying gym fees and going to the pub instead!

Tee time is a relatively early 11 o’clock so set your alarm accordingly. Walking at Kedaton is 750,000 while a shared cart will set you back 890,000. Caddie tip on top as always.

As well as being a pleasant course with many charming lady caddies, it is perhaps even more famous for being possessed of a deal more water than a stick could sensibly be shaken at; fortunately much of it doesn’t come into play unless you try really, really hard, nevertheless we highly recommend bringing a spare ball.

2017 Matchplay Championship

Matt Fairey and Nuri have been added to the 41 players drawn from the hat last week with Matt playing Mark Johnson and Nuri going straight through to Bracket Emas unless we can get one more Tee Setter to join up and even out the number of players. Drop us a line here if you want to join in the fun and challenge of Tee Set’s Matchplay event, an event second in importance only to the Championship itself.

The Matchplay information pack has now gone out to all participants and this includes contact details for all those participants. This is not for you gaze at and admire, though it is kind of cute, but rather for you to use to arrange when and where you will play your matches with your opponents – we do NOT do this for you, it is your responsibility.

All the relevant info can be found on the Matchplay page and is kept up to date by Matchplay Supremo James Ross who, despite being unable to join this year due to travel commitments. has agreed to  keep things organised and moving along, so many thanks to him for his service!

Sign up here for what should be a fun day! … see yah Sunday! …. cheers, Tee Set

PS It is not the world’s best kept secret that the price of their beers has brought tears to the eyes of even the most hardened of Tee Setters when visiting Kedaton, so you might think about taking the usual mitigating measures.

A cautionary note .. use the far left LANE as the required exit toll booth may not be visible past the regular toll booths.
