Tee Set 39th BIRTHDAY BASH Gading Raya game 2055

RESULTS:

PARTY PHOTS;

SPONSORS:

Thanks to our sponsors for todays event.

Jack Calcote for providing the Smoothies

Richard Mau and JS Luwansa for providing the Birthday cake

PT KOJO for providing the wine and prizes.

HIGHLIGHTS: (The Thomas Report)

What? Another perfect day for golf? Yes sirree!!
A jolly group of stalwarts and newbies mixed it up on Sunday in a scramble format that produced a plethora of under-par holes. Mulligans rained like confetti – especially on the closing greens where each team seemed to have a few Mullies to spare.

Highlight of the day goes to the Baglivo foursome that eagled the 18th capitalizing on two big Bags blasts. Finishing with a flourish they sank the pressure putt with a snooker cue. Take that, Ronnie O’Sullivan!!

Hats off to Jane Finnie who personally parred number 13 with 4 great shots.

THE PRESIDENTS REPORT;

Happy Birthday Tee Set and I wish you and all the members many more birthdays to come.

During the week and again today I announced that Tee Set has chosen RIMBA SATWA FOUNDATION as our charity to support. This Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the wild elephants in Riau Provence Sumatra and their habitat. They have a long track record and strong support from the local community. https://youtu.be/706wbLS_nHw

A picture says a thousand words so the photos means I don’t have to pad this report.

I look forward to seeing you all next Sunday. Remember the early start.

Tee Set CHAMPIONSHIP 2022 CHARITY EVENT

I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE SELECTED THE CHARITY THAT TEE SET WILL SUPPORT FROM PROCEEDS DERIVED FROM OUR 2022 CHAMPIONSHIP AND AWARDS NIGHT.

RIMBA SATWA FOUNDATION (RSF)

Many of you have seen PT KOJO as a sponsor of Tee Set for many years but may not know what we do. KOJO is a property developer supporting the Oil and Gas industry in Jakarta (BSD), Sumatra (Balai Raja DURI), Kalimantan (Muara Badak) and Surabaya. KOJO has always protected the forest on our land. Now the only forests in Sumatra Riau is Chevron and KOJO. see attached aerial view below. Elephants have always used KOJO land to stay for a couple of week then move on, coming 2 times per year. Now it is 4 times per year. RS Foundation have been active for many years on KOJO land they have planted 2,500 trees so far this year. KOJO has contracted them to plant 11,000 more trees that support elephants. Directors in their private capacity have donated to RS Foundation and now we have introduced Tee Set to this very worthwhile charity. It is my sincere hope that Tee Set will continue to support RS Foundation after my presidency ends.

The Tee Set Championship event is a serious golf tournament and therefore mulligans are not on sale to support our charity however an auction will be held to raise money for RS Foundation.

Please register to play in this years Championship tournament, by doing so you will be supporting this great charity.

Shawn Low Gross 83

SKILL PRIZES:

Ezra LD Men 255m

NEW MEMBERS: (Welcome to Tee Set)

WELCOME BACK:

HIGHLIGHT (The Thomas Report)

Double-edged sword today for Pras’ driver. Longest hit at 269m but another big hit landed in a distant tree and didn’t come down.

Four pars on the same hole is a bit unusual although not unheard of. Geoff, Josh, Neil, Tom on #10.

Shaun’s low gross was commendable considering that he’s been practicing with a hockey stick lately.

Bill, Robert, Mike and Harry staggered in after consuming margaritas by the dozen. A notable show of dedication to golf and all that goes with it.

PRESIDENTS REPORT:

Flight allocation is a never ending point of discussion. This is how it’s done; groups of 2 or three get to go first because they should be the fastest, the slowest group will be last to tee off so they will not slow players behind them.

Admin is in a no-win position if the slow group goes early, then the following groups complain and if the slow group is mostly last then they complain. Would the slow players consider playing a 2 or 3 ball flight?

You are encouraged to submit nominations for President 2023.

Our WhatsApp General has be restricted to Admin because there was too much chatter that caused several members in the chat to leave.

I look forward to seeing you all at our special Birthday Bash

NEXT WEEK: BIRTHDAY BASH at GADING RAYA.

Green Fee 900k

Tee time 11:30

White and Red tees

Chose your own flight before 08:00 Thursday otherwise blind pick 3 man teams with one lady if possible.NOTE THE CHANGE IN PAIRING from the Flyer.

PLEASE THANK RICHARD MAU for sponsoring the Birthday Cake. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🎂

Tee Set Gading Raya 7 Aug 22 game 2051

RESULTS:

WINNERS PHOTOS:

SKILL PRIZES:

WELCOME BACKS:

This a a great testimony for the magnetic power of Tee Set with these welcome backs after 497 weeks 316, 119 and 9 weeks. Great to have you back.

PHOTO GALERY:

HIGHLIGHTS: (THE THOMAS REPORT)

Tom after eye surgery, known as The One Eyed Jack is recovering and has passed his reporting on to his ghost writer Twitchey. Tom even though blind still managed to finish with only 26 puts to take the award for low puts.

Bill Lloyd was so close to getting another ACE but not to be this time. Not bad for a nine week layoff.

Gading Raya welcomed us with great greens and fairways coupled with an early tee off at 11:20 from hole 1 and 10. The marshals kept the game flowing and we finished in good time. They provided red flags to our not so mobile players , so thanks for that.

Several players had to drop out this week due to either themselves or family members having flue like symptoms.

Tom is scheduled to have time off in Central Java and will miss next weeks report as well.

PRESIDENTS NOTES:

This week they’re is a couple of things to report.

First: Scores better than 6 under HC or 6 over points will not qualify for prizes however the score will be counted for HC in Mygolf2u .

Sccond: Nomination for President is now open. Any Active Member may elect self or a qualifying Active Member with 15 games in the past 2 years. Nominations may be sent to our secretary Ms Adhe.

Third: We have received a formal quote from Gading Raya for the Championship and Formal Awards Night. We will be restricted to 120 players so please register in Mygolf2u to ensure a place.

I look forward to seeing you all next Sunday at BSD. See attached map for directions. Have a great week.

Tee Set KOJO Monthly Medal CGK game 2050

Cengkareng

RESULTS:

Correction : Low gross was Andrew Deane 76 however he was OB so TPS 77

PHOTOS OF WINNERS:

SKILL PRIZE WINNERS

Hitoshi, Cucu, Eli, Gaurav and Christine

WELCOME BACK and NEW MEMBERS

PHOTO of the week.

HIGHLIGHTS : (THE THOMAS REPORT)

Lovely day at Cengkareng on Sunday with a big turnout of regulars, welcome-backs, and newbies.

The ladies were notable in numerous ways, to wit: Sri Sollfrank had Max and Andrew shaking their heads with her short game and putting. Christine set the standard for putts and tied for low net. Velma Yolanda shut down Mark in matchplay and cemented her rising star status. Velma’s husband also plays golf.

Vijay mixed in 3 birdies with some desultory holes to lift him to a 1-up win. As with Simon and Hitoshi in previous weeks, three birds in a competitive round is always impressive.

Simon O. used a laser beam and acoustic triangulation to determine that he missed an eagle putt on hole #1 by the smallest possible measurable margin.

Ezra’s return from the great white north was highlighted by miss-hitting his second on #16 and watching it skip twice on the water – ending up safe.

Hole 11 was birdied by 3 out of 4 players. Velma, Mark &Tom.

Match Play

Vijay over Arnold 1-up
Velma over Mark 3&2

PRESIDENTS NOTES;

I am very encouraged by the number of players that turned out for this months monthly medal. Thank you all and welcome to our new members.

An update on the Date and Place of this years Championship. Date 18th November at Gading Raya.

We did get a response for donations of a bottle as stock for the Championship event. Please donate next week or when ever it is convenient. This has become necessary as cash income is not our usual large kitty due to larger and more numerous prizes during the year.

I would also like to thank Ms Adhe for her great work in administration to make things go smoothly THANKS 🙏🏻

Tee Set GUNUNG GEULIS 25 JULY GAME 2049

RESULTS;

PHOTOS OF WINNERS:

PHOTO GALLERY;

HIGHLIGHTS: (The Thomas Report)

Early tee off, early finish – what a super Sunday plan! The crowded parking lot looked ominous but the big crowd was on the West course.

Mark and Michael picked a great day for matchplay but in the end M ‘n M fell 5 & 4 to an in-form MJ.

Dean M. made the turn in 55 but turned it all around with a sterling 42 on the way in.

Before the day’s play had started our group’s caddies expressed their concerns about how some ex-pat golfers had recently made things very uncomfortable for them by repeatedly getting angry and/or disrespecting them. They were frankly worried about a re-occurrance. We put their minds at ease and at the same time reflected on how easily golfing paradise can be marred by ugly behavior. The bywords here would be: play golf, have fun, be respectful of others.

PRESIDENTS NOTES;

The smiles tells the story of a great day.

Even though the course was fully booked our first group teed off 3 minutes late and took 4h 10m (as good as it gets) . Thank you GG management. Besides that the course and greens were in great condition.

Rain came late in the afternoon and caused some dropouts. NOTE: If there is thunder and the siren sounds it should only be a 45 min delay before play resumes.

Some carts did not have rain covers for the bags however I suggest that everyone have their own bag cover in cases like this.

Red Flag on the fairway was not permitted on the East course so some players were inconvenienced. Adhe will check and advise each week if we can drive on fairways.

This year the Championship and Awards Night will be held on 19th or 20th of November and at the moment the front runner for the event is Gading Raya. This will be further investigated in the coming weeks.

Further to the remarks in the Thomas Report, I am pleased to say that Tee Set has in most cases eliminated the bad behaviour referred to. It is now very uncommon for our members to display self disgust by throwing clubs, throwing balls, loud expressions of anger and violence towards caddies. Please continue to display self control when playing with Tee Set.

SPONSORS;

I would like to take this opportunity to thank sponsors from last years Championship and Awards Night as well as those who have contributed to this years Valentines Day, World Cup and continuing Monthly Medal.

In preparation for this years major event, I invite you all to contribute ONE BOTTLE for the Bar, Prizes and Door prizes for the Awards Night. These can be given to Ms Adhe when ever you play next. Note that there will be free flow at the bar on the night.

NOTE: The image that follows is deduced so that mobile phones can view the full content.

I look forward to seeing you all at Cengkareng next Sunday for our Monthly Medal.

Tee Set RIVERSIDE 17 July game 2048 & JIL

RESULTS;

Thank you all for following our request of last week to enter your score in mygolf2u as you go hole by hole. The result is admin time was reduced by half and we had the added advantage of seeing the leaderboard in real time. THANKS!

PHOTOS OF WINNERS:

From left to right – Mike Taylor, Shyam Datye & simon Reynolds

OTHER WINNERS:

Bob Low putts 26, Simon first birdie on 4th hole and new member John Hesting

PHOTO GALLERY:

HIGHLIGHTS (The Thomas Report)

Indonesia, a.k.a. golfing paradise, tossed another perfect day at us on Sunday. Lots of people away in July as evidenced by the absence of two JIL teams but the stalwarts on hand took full advantage of on-time starting and great course conditions – except for a few uncharacteristically iffy greens.
These days ‘Simon’ seems synonymous with ‘quality golf’. If they ever all play together we’ll need the cameras rolling.
Some lopsided interleague matches interspersed with ‘birdie on the last hole to tie’ scenarios. Competitive fires continue to burn brightly.

COMMITTEE MEETING: 19 JULY

items for discussion

  • Reconciliation of accounts for World Cup event
  • How to improve major event experience for players
  • Determine the format for the Championship and formal awards night.
  • Evaluate course facilities needed for Championship
  • Determine date & place for Championship and formal awards night.
  • Other business

PRESIDENTS NOTES:

After the outstanding success of the World Cup held at Riverside, it is now time for us to plan for another spectacular event for the annual Championship and Formal Awards night. Your input is important to us, so please feel free to send us your suggestions, comments and of course complaints.

To clarify matters relating to money. The Constitution is very clear the we are a non-profit society and that all proceeds will be for the benefit of the members. None of our Committee receive any money for any reason, not even for meals at meetings. Our permanent Administrator receives 5mil per month all in. If you have any questions relating to source and application of funds, please feel free to direct them to me for my personal and confidential attention.

Some interesting statistics have been exposed during our background and due diligence in preparation for the end of year event.

  • The number of different individuals that have played so far this year; 241
  • The number of green fees paid ; 1,108
  • The approximate value of green fees paid ; US$ 71,300.-
  • The most games played so far ; Tom Grace 23, Vijay 21 and Geoff 20

Tee Set Imperial game 2047 Report

WINNERS:

To view all Gross and Points scores, go to mygolf2u select this tournament and Leaderboard. There is a button to switch between Gross and Net. If game is setup for stableford then the net column is the points score otherwise stroke play will be net after handicap.

WINNERS PHOTOS

RONALD LIM 1st 36 points also Low Gross 84
BOBBY CANGKRAMA 2nd 34
GRAHAM SUTCLIFFE 3rd 33
Jungil Han New Member
First Birdie
Jay  Punongbbayan
Welcome back Mike Taylor and Shyam Datye
Low Putts 28 Gaurav Shirke

PHOTO GALLERY:

HIGHLIGHTS (The Thomas Report ghost writer)

Imperial provided smooth registration and a great course with fine weather, a semi shotgun start from 4 tee boxes. Two match play games were concluded Hitoshi 2/1 over Craig E and Arnold 7/5 over George. The greens were lightning fast to the shock of some of the unsuspecting. After a great showing of the Ladies at last weeks World Cup, this week we were graced with the presence of only one Lady. Always great to have Rosita join the fun.

LOWLIGHTS:

SLOW PLAY was again a pain for those following.

To overcome this there are some things Admin can do, mainly putting slow players in the last flight, that also applies to scratch and low HC players. Players can assist by 1. keeping up to within one shot of the group in front. 2. Prepare for your next shot while waiting for the shooter to play. This can be done in the background like measuring the distance, course management assessment, lineup, 0wind, club selection, be standing ready to hit when its your turn, 3. On the green continue putting if reasonably possible instead of marking and waiting for the other player to put. Pickup if the ball comes to rest in the white circle.

SCORING:

1. ADMIN WILL NO LONGER ASSIST ENTERING YOUR SCORE.

2. You must fill in your score in the Mygolf2u application as you go. If you do not like doing that then have one of the other players in the group do that for you.

LEADERBOARD:

By entering scores as you go, the Leaderboard is always up to date. Very interesting in a competitive situation.

Winners will be derived from the Leaderboard in the Mygolf2u app. The default setting of the Leaderboard is sorted by Gross score. To view net score select the button and scores will be sorted by net. If stableford is selected in the app. than the points will be displayed in the net column.

TEE BOX

There is a never ending discussion about which Tee Box is in play. To clarify this the following will apply whiteout exception.

Ladies will always play from the RED tee box.

Men will play from the Default position ie. WHITE tee box except for Major events MONTHLY MEDAL and CHAMPIONSHIP. Men may elect to play from the BULE when WHITE is subscribed on the condition that the Handicap is adjusted and that the player must select blue tee in the app.

HANDICAPS:

On many occasion players complain about the HC shown in the app. and their other official HC. The reason for most of this problem is that the player does not have 20 games entered in the app. Therefore do the following; enter additional scores and advise Admin. to enter at temporary HC

NEXT WEEK; game 2048 on 17 July 2022

JOINT TEE SET REGULAR AND JIL Inter league at RIVERSIDE.

TEE TIME 12;00

Fee: Tee Set Admin will collect 100k from each player. JIL players money will go to JIL committee and other stays with Tee Set. JIL players may chose to participate in TS competition and TS players are eligible for JIL prizes.

RIVERSIDE; Just a great way to spend Sunday afternoon.
