Palm Hill, Sunday 14th June 2015

HighlightsThe day

30 Tee Setters arrived at Palm Hill to find a rather full car park but happily the Starter was soon offering us an early start, a start before less than half the field had even arrived.

On

1st par HC >= 30 for On on her return

No Newcomers to report this week, but happily some Welcome Backs to a number of Tee Setters now resident outside the land of the Durian, George “Pulpy” Beverage and On and Dave Shenman, now finding themselves in a land possessed of but a single golf course, and one with just 11 holes at that, the Solomon Islands.

Scant wisdom shown in cutting that particular baby in nearly half.

Having missed his lift from Cecelia’s Cafe, we had already taken Pulpy off the play-list when his cheery visage made an appearance after the flights had been completed. Trust it was good night George!!

In glorious weather once again, a lightly loaded course and cute and mostly knowledgeable caddies meant that most rounds were to be around the magic 4 hours mark.

Palm Hills is of course no pushover and that winner of First Birdie was only to perform his feat on the 13th hole served to confirm that – as did the relatively high average putt count despite relatively flat greens.

The Honorary Vice-President of Exotic Drinks made a long overdue return to the fray courtesy of a private flight from Singapore in the early morning – only to find that there were no cocktails available despite their extensive presence on the drinks card. He promises to permanently carry his own Margarita mix in the car to cope with such unfortunate circumstances in the future. James is also now an expert at removing amazing amounts of sand out of bunkers with but a single blow as you will see below.

While traffic in the morning had been rather kind, there was to be no repeat of this in the evening with the traffic from the Puncak being absolutely murderous with return journeys of around 2 hours being the norm. Your committee’s decision to move the emphasis of our schedule to the West, and the joys of a still unclogged outer ring road, was to prove once again that they can occasionally get things right.

With no Brenda, it was the Web Guy’s turn to get it in the ear for the full two hours from Malty on the way home this week, fortunately the former was exhausted from answering stupid questions, a day in the sun, recording all the scores and joining in the merriment of the apres golf – and was to spend most of the journey asleep.

The play

Prize Summary

LinaA crushing Low Net of 66 from Lina Bunter to take the Grade C honours while a net 9 strokes more were good enough to share Grade A for Alastair Livingston and Anthony King while Harold Hayne, in his 42nd and last Tee Set before returning to the US, took full advantage of playing off the white Tees to come in with a net par.

Best wishes and Selamat Jalan to Harold and his family from us all at Tee Set – we hope to see you back in a couple of years!

Seemingly inevitably, Simon Reynolds took the Low Gross honours once again with 81 off the stick, 3 shots ahead of James Young, though James was to get some consolation with a terrific 27 putts.

IMG_0049Evaldo marked his return to Tee Set fun with a sandy on his very first hole, while Fernando’s 4 sandy pars on  the day were to be of no avail.

While on the business of bunkers it is well worth clicking on the photo opposite to take in the full glory of James Young removing an heroic amount of sand from a bunker, while his ball remains obstinately exactly where it started as you will see 🙂

Malty and KoenClose mates and eternal rivals, Malty John and Koen, played together as ever and each managed to improve by a rather high 12 stokes on their respective back nines. Malty seldom walks away empty handed.

Palm Hills is always a healthy revenue generator for Tee Set and 6 skirts from the 28 qualifying for the honour was once again a decent return. Happily most of them we able to set off their fine against their winnings!

Fuller player by player results here while more photos of a great day will eventually be found here.

Tee Set 2015 Matchplay

Santi Miller was absent due to being a bit “sakit” and, with the deadline about to pass, conceded her matchplay to Anthony King. The on-the-ball Matchplay Fuhrer immediately spotted the opportunity for Anthony to play his next round against the waiting Neil Mullins when Anthony was to win 2 and 1, but only after having withstood a fightback from a Neil who had been five down at one point.

With Interleague having nabbed the last Sunday in the month, our Monthly Medal at Imperial is advanced to next Sunday, 21st June. We promise to bring the Shield this time.

As well as  the Monthly Medal, Sunday will also be the penultimate round of the “Tee Set 2015 Eclectic”. Definitely not one to miss, especially  if you are still in the hunt!

Green fees of 750,000 roops including shared buggy and a start at sometime after 11:48.

See ya at Imperial!! ….. Tee Set

PS it doesn’t seem so long ago the El Guapo was given to bragging that he had NEVER “won” a skirt. Having finally broken the ice last month, he seems to be positively enjoying his second one here along with some of the Usual Suspects!

Palm Hill Skirts

…. Palm Hills is always a nice little earner for the Treasurer – even when he forgets to bring the skirt!!

A very popular regular Tee Set course on Sunday, Palm Hills, where it will be interesting amongst other things to see progress on the building site that was the clubhouse last time we visited back in April.

Tee off from 1&10 at midday means you can have another lie-in this week and still have plenty of time for breakfast and “ngobrol” with your mates.

Green fees of 708,000 roops represent a fair price for a good course. Sign up here for the fun-in-the-sun if you are not one of the more than 20 who have done so already.

2015 Tee Set Eclectic

Eclectic

Eclectic leader board after 4 rounds

The Web Guy has been a bit busy with stuff and let us down, taking nearly two weeks to cobble together the Eclectic Scores after the 4th Round at Imperial, no matter, it is done now and you will see the leader board to the right.

If you can drive a spreadsheet then you may want to have a look at the full detail here.

James Ross’ recent good form combined with some judicious decisions around when to leave the driver in the bag sees him at the head of the pack. James can hit it a country mile but direction can most kindly be described as unpredictable 🙂

Both the Bunters, Chris Murcho and King are close up behind but there is a whole bunch of peeps still in with a shot at becoming this year’s Tee Set Eclectic Champion, the 1st holder of the magnificent trophy that we will almost certainly get around to buying at some stage, possessor of excellent bragging rights – and no prize money 🙂

By and large it is  the high handicappers that are shining in this competition as, over multiple rounds they are always in with a chance of par or net par at almost every hole.

Remarkable therefore that Mucho, Anlo, Guapo and Bags have gotten
as close as they have.

The other clear lesson is that it is best not to miss a round if you are going put yourself in with a chance, two rounds to go so don’t miss ’em!

Padang Golf Modern, Sunday 7th June

Highlights

The day

The trip to Padang Golf Modern in Tangerang has its own unique navigational challenges with a number of tricky manoeuvres required to find the course once off the Merak tol.

23 Tee Setters managed to find the course, however, with a steady stream of registrations right up to the official tee time of 12:04.

The starter did offer an 11:30 start since the course was quiet, something which rather prompts the question as to why the earliest tee time we could book was 12:04; maybe 11-12am is reserved for members only?

With 3 groups off from each of the two tee boxes made available, the round got off to a flying start and the pace was to continue throughout the day, this despite the oppressive humidity, with rounds of from 4hrs to 4hrs 15 minutes being typical which meant the 19th hole banter back in the club house got started in record time.

Nearly all players hung around after the game for a bite to eat, cold beer and to sample some of John “Malty” Suermondt’s single malt.  Quality of food was good and the service excellent – and only marred somewhat by the 535% markup on the wholesale price of beer to 64,130 roops

Last time out, Pieter and Deddy Groen would have earned the Vasco de Garma award however they never managed to find the course so went shopping instead. This time around they gave themselves plenty of lead time just in case history repeated itself but somehow managed to take the correct turns and arrived a full 3 hours before tee off 🙂

That’s a lot of time to kill on the practice green but it was still not enough to save Deddy from the highest putts category for the day with 39. Her time might have been better spent in the club house drinking beer with the rest of us!

Mel at receptionAlthough we’ve had a few SNAFUS in the past with overbooking, the management outdid themselves today with hospitality and organisational skills second only to Imperial.

A dedicated check in table was provided with two lovely hostesses, lovelies whom Mel Cantarella immediately endeavored to get to know better as you see.

A special area was made available for us in the restaurant and carts were lined up ready to go with signs identifying our group and starting tee boxes.  They even printed special score cards with a Tee Set header.  A rare case in Indonesia of the meeting and beating of customer expectation? In any event well done, Modern.

Newcomer portraitsA very healthy four Newcomers to report this week, a welcome to them all, Manfred Borer, Mike Dougherty on a holiday visit from the US,  Fanny Lie and an Edward Ng making his maiden appearance on the green stuff from the joys of the driving range.

Particularly pleasing was to see another addition to our lady members in Fanny Lie who was to make a sound start with us today, while Ed took to being a Sunday cross-dresser for the first time with good grace!

Biggest welcome back was Dede who last played at the 2014 Tee Set Championship while in second place with a modest 12 weeks, and making a periodic visit from the US to reacquaint himself on the Jakarta traffic situation, was Rusty Witwer. Welcome Back all.

In summary, and despite the extortionate beer prices, a great day’s golf was enjoyed by all and there are certainly plenty of reasons to return (with a packed essky) to Padang Golf Modern some time soon.

All made it home safely so no Vasco de Garma award this week, though Malty gets the award for longest one sided conversation spoken during a 1 hour car ride to Star Deli. Brenda has been promised ear plugs before the next trip.

The play

Summary

The flyer for today’s event promised a Tee Set friendly course but it has  to be said there were a number of elements that rather belied that expectation, with the rough claiming many a ball and resembling the challenge thrown out to pros in tournament play, while the bunkers were deep enough to be straight out of a links course design, requiring side-ways shots to exit in some cases.

Caddy

mmmm, putter?

One young caddy, perhaps tired of watching her boss butcher a number of shots climbed in to show him how it’s done.  At fault, taking 4 shots out of a bunker on his way to 10 on the par 3 #11, was of course the Former President of Almost Everything.

James Ross once again shot under his handicap with 69 to take low net B grade while Tom Alcedo with 72 took C grade. Tom also managed to get his Slaney’s beef voucher after taking out the monthly medal way back in December 2014. Proves the old saying that all good things come to those who wait.

The monthly medal shield showed up on the presumption that last week’s winner Koen Verheyen would be onboard for a victory snap missed last week, however, domestic matters got in the way so both Fernando and Malty stepped in to take Koen’s place.

SkirtsOf the 21 blokes in a position to earn a skirt today nearly 20% of the group succumbed, thereby achieving immortality in our Hall of Skirt Infamy.

A couple of regulars there in Mel and Malty but who’s that hiding under the wig? Welcome to Tee Set, Ed.

More detailed, player by player by results here while more photos of a fine day are on the Tee Set Gallery.

2015 Tee Set Matchplay

Just the one match play result to report from today with Mustafa prevailing 2 up after a prolonged up and down battle with Mark Fiorello. The closeness of the game is reflected in their net scores with Mark shooting 71 and Mustifa’s 69 taking low net A grade. The consolation prize for Mark was taking low gross with 82.

Imperial Monthly Medal – Sunday 31st May 2015

BannerThe day

Just avoid the water

Traffic for the 52 Tee Setters showing for the Monthly Medal at Imperial, aided by the JORR, was once again not an issue either going or returning, however, it was noticeable that average time of arrival was just a little later than usual – possibly Tee Setters gaming the almost invariably later than advertised start we get at Imperial.

In fact, today the starter did a hell of a job getting everyone off without too much delay despite management’s predilection for overbooking, in common with most other Jakarta courses of course.

The weather was dry and sunny, and would have been perfect if it hadn’t been so bloody hot and sweaty, with only intermittent cloud relief.

Has to be said that the Imperial carts are getting a little old and tired and there are not enough of them with caddies and players alike standing around ready to go but no buggies in sight. Last month the starter used the rain delay as an excuse but Sunday they had no excuse.

Great to see a healthy three Newcomers this week in Samuel Rully, Brad Burness and Kobus Fourie – a warm Tee Set welcome to them all – and come back soon!!

Also good to see the Welcome Backs list headed up at 31 weeks by that long time Tee Setter and former Club Champion, Ian Barr, returning to the fold once again on one of his infrequent returns to the mother ship. He was followed by Chazz Hassig at 20 weeks – we guess the boys didn’t have a football match this weekend, Chazz 🙂

Despite the odd niggle, Imperial is undoutedly a great venue for our monthly romp and your committee will doubtless see it as a very fine option for the second half of the year after our current 6 month deal with them runs out.

The play

Results

WinnerThe day’s principal glory was reserved for Koen Verheyen who was to collect 40 Stableford points  and take home the Slaney’s beef voucher and, most importantly, gets his name on the Monthly Medal shield.

Unfortunately the shield didn’t arrive at the course this month, so the photo with it will have to wait, Koen.

A long time between drinks for Koen who rarely gets let out much from business, motorbike and family duties.

We also rarely see Rasmus Kilde but, when he does show up, he generally brings his A grade game with him. Low Gross of 82 to Ramus just as he did last time he played with us.

Good to see some quality players showing up led by vice President Simon Reynolds and up and coming star young Barbora Gaislerova.

Another good game from Barbora who shot under her handicap and was only pipped by an outstanding round from Bags who shot 4 under his handicap to take Low Net – A Grade, putting out everything we imagine.

Cheesy grinLongest drive was Fernando with a manly 230m, while nearest to the pin went to 9 years old Daniel at 1.8m.

The committee decided to award Daniel the much sought after pies from Santi so that he can beef up and start to challenge for the Long Drive as well as Nearest to the Pin in future.

Skirts

Mel Cantarella was a little indignant about his skirt on hole #4 when his plopped drive into the water was adjudged to be a skirt while Malty Suermondt’s similar plop was not.

On reflection, had a committee member been in the group to adjudicate, both drives would have been declared short.

Pleasing to note that every one of the nine qualifying for cross-dressing duties not only paid up – but also got themselves into the frame of shame. Well done to them all!

Fuller, player by player results here while more photos of a great day are on the Tee Set Gallery.

2015 Tee Set Matchplay

Couple of results from today, both pretty close affairs:

Joseph D’Cruz beat Alastair Livingstone 2 and 1

Geary Bowles beat Craig Bink 3 and 1

Next up

modernAnother excellent course for us to enjoy next week with a trip out to Padang Golf Modern, another benefitting from the opening of the JORR’s missing link.

Designed by five-time British Open Winner Peter Thompson and with smallish elevated greens Modern is even more of a challenge than usual when it comes to getting on in regulation – but we generally see some very low Low Putts results turned in as a consequence. Life is all about balance.

We have a relatively late 12:09 start from both 1 & 10 – and with the damage limited to a very reasonable 730,000 roops for such a quality course. Get signed up here for the fun.

See ya at Modern!!

Monthly Medal, Imperial, 31st May 2015

and the ugliest tower blocks in the world thrown in for free :-)

and the ugliest tower blocks in the world thrown in for free 🙂

The prizes are never going to be enough to allow you to comfortably retire but winning  the Monthly Medal at Imperial does induce a sense of wellbeing that is only partially brought about by the excellence of the course, the service and the cold beer.

Green fees reasonable for such an outstanding course at just 750,000 including shared cart and a tee time that is allegedly 11:46 from 1 & 10, though we have learned to be a little cynical about Imperial’s advertised tee times.

Pangkalan Jati, Sunday May 24th 2015

The day

BannerSmallest turnout for a long time, affected by both the Interleague at Jags and we suspect a bit of golf fatigue after the Rancamaya weekend,

No worries however as the 15 Tee Setters who did play had a fine day at Pangkalan Jati in just about perfect weather – and with only Neil Mullins succumbing to the vagaries of the Sunday market on Fatmawati and arriving a tad late

Hot and relatively dry recent weather provided great long driving conditions – and those conditions hadn’t yet affected the greens which were in as good a shape as they have ever been.

Two matchplays got played on the day with the Jelineks having mixed fortunes, Jan beating John Suermondt 1 up while, while Leona went down by the same score to Doug McQuater  – both matches going down to the line!

The play

Results

clydeWell done to long time Tee Setter Clyde Wickiser for showing there is plenty of life left in the old dog by convincingly taking Low Net overall with a net par 72!

With the grown-ups away at Jags, Sofree took advantage to take Low Gross with 89 off the stick while with a small field, 30 putts was good enough to win Low Putts for Neil Mullins.

skirtsSmall supplement to the treasury funds today, after the big hit it took last week at Rancamaya, from cross-dressers Karel Horak and Chris Till while Chris’ wife Maya took Most Strokes with 11 – Maya was however to balance the household budget by winning Most Improved on her own, with a 9 strokes improvement on the back.

Interleague

The all-conquering Tee Set continued their march towards glory today, led from behind by Captain Courageous Ric against Loose Impediments though it was all a little like a Tee Set Derby with Jiro, Tom Alcedo and Chris Smith all present in the Loose Impediments team.

Ever the creative skipper, Ric tried new combinations, splitting whizz kids Barbora and Daniel, pairing good friends Joe and Anlo and forming “Chris Squared” with Murcho and Lever.

Simon Reynolds joined Barbora as the singles ‘team’ and delivered an all square result against fellow Tee Setter Chris Smith who had brought along his best golf game with him, while Barbora took out the crafty Tom Alcedo 3 and 1. Great results as they were conceding 30 shots between them!

Joe and Anlo built further on their flawless records in demoralising the opposition with some uncanny birdies for a 4 and 3 win. The Singing President was driven around (some might say carried) around the course by 9 year old Daniel who shot a 95 in his first round ever round off the white tees. As he wondered if he could make it over the hazards on some holes, Daniel gave no cause for complaint from the opposition and plenty of cause for celebration as he helped square a tough match in which 10 holes were squared. The combination that shone brightest, however, was Chris Squared… a Kiwi and a Brit from beyond the Wall ….more dour a combination you could not find … combining brilliantly for a crushing 6 and 4 win.

All in all it was a great day with the 8-2 result extending Tee Set’s lead to 7  over closest rivals Tin Cups, a team we will play next month in what will essentially be the grand final.

Next up

Imperial sunsetSunday 31st May – and if you guessed the Monthly Medal at Imperial with a K then you would be right!

Rancamaya 16th/17th May 2015

Metro MiniThe day before

Before 9.30, the WhatsApp group set up for the event was abuzz with horror stories of the traffic on the Jagorawi Tol, something which led to all sorts of mitigating actions being taken including even using the Old Bogor Road and a variety of Tol exit strategies.

In the end journey times of between 100 and 150 minutes were the norm; horrible but there have been worse. Adding to the joy of the journey for several parties was  the discovery of the old Chinese cemetery area on one of the back ways to the course – some quite amazing structures complete with sitting areas for the entire extended family.

Some of our younger members arrived in some style in a Rolls Royce as you will see above. Yep, this was our weekend to do something by way of thank you to our long suffering partners and kids – and a great time they had by all accounts.

As the significant others had fun in the Kid’s Club, swimming pools, Bouncy Castle etc, the round on Saturday was of course, pick up and go – and the highlights  were Anlo’s eagle 3 (1 putt) on the par 5 13th and Lin Bunter’s  first ever sub-100 round! Well done both!

Happy bbq group

Bill Rastus Lloyd Dexter and girlfriend Gaislers  Jan keeping an eye onm the drinks Lamb rack Leonas cake the bandFantastic BBQ in the evening with the best mass catered food that any of the committee had ever experienced and which was to find the big people full of Czech beer, malt whisky, fine cheese and heaven knows what else,

Thanks to Jan for the impeccable preparation and execution for the Rancamaya weekend. The tone for the BBQ was spot on for a family night and everyone had a great time either talking and relaxing, playing pool, grooving to the reggae and jazz of the band, assisted by Bill “Freestyler” Lloyd making a return to his roots and the Singing President living up to his moniker.

Great to welcome back Joseph, Mel and Bill after decent breaks from Tee Set since the 2014 Tee Set Championship – and to welcome Newcomers Kim Pham, Tomas and Lottis (who came all the way from Semarang for the weekend) and Sheinal and Jacqueline – all of whom we hope to see again very soon.

The day

The day started for some with a coaching clinic from our own resident pro, Ken “Do as I say…” Runyon, where everyone came away with helpful hints to improve their game and some then put them into action.  The Former Past President of Almost Everything tried pointing both of his thumbs down his shaft and found it gave him far more control.

The coaching was followed by a chipping contest which proved to be far more difficult than it looked and Thurmond was the only first round winner, being the only one to land his ball in the circle; Anlo, Chris and Jess achieved this on their second attempt and took the minor prize.

The majority of the field played with the benefit of a Saturday practice round

With so much going on, and no Brenda to help, we did our best to get all flights out early as the course was available from a little after 11:00 and some flights were joined by “late comers” who came ready to play at the scheduled tee off time of 12 noon.  Chris Lever had left a seat in his cart expecting Rina but got Mel instead – no doubt a factor in Chris’s focused performance on the day .

The course was in excellent condition and the weather perfect for play.  Rancamaya has become a community for lovers of golf, and some residents have clearly settled in to the lifestyle. We can only envy them.

The play

There were some very impressive scores in every grade.

In A grade, Barbora and Simon shared the same cart and posted scores of 76 and 77 off the stick, with Barbora shooting a one under par 35 on the front nine.  Exceptional rounds both and it is great to see our top players bringing in gross scores under 80.  Barbora therefore took the premier prize of Low Nett A Grade with a 66, with Simon being awarded Low Gross.

The Singing President had the great pleasure of joining the flight as more or less a spectator as he struggled through his own rather less impressive round.  At one stage, he had to step in as rules official when Simon asked a question of Barbora’s iphone with the very handy 19th Hole app which measures distance to any point of the course. Clearly in an indulgent frame of mind, and in flagrant disregard of the USPGA rules under which we operate, he refused to award a two shot penalty

Simon’s new found extra height and length, thanks to a newly started and vigorous yoga regime, had him in danger of overshooting on a number of tee boxes.

Chris Lever continued his outstanding recent form with his best ever score of 81 to win Low Net B Grade with 64.  Playing off the white tees under what is now known as “The Hayne Exemption”, Harold Hayne fired an excellent net 66 to narrowly pip Leona’s 68 for Net C Grade winner.  There were a number of other strong sub-par and par rounds. Bit of a cock up there as Harold is of course a B Grade Player – we are sure that Leona will eventually forgive the officiating staff involved.

In the skills prizes, first birdies went to the Web Guy, Tom and Anlo on the very  first hole, Alistair had the only sandy par of the day on the 7th and Thurmond raided the Treasury again with the first par over 30, no doubt due to his excellent chipping.

Barbora had a miserly 26 puts but had already been a winner, so we had to look to 27 putts and found Alistair, but he had won first sandy, and Malty, who had clearly discovered sensitivity around the greens after last week’s harsh bollocking…think of it as tough love Malty.

Jan Jelinek won most improved with 10 strokes, but was not prepared to claim it as a skill prize…don’t worry, Jan, as the Web Guy demonstrated last week, it is a reward for refusing to give up.

Sheinal was welcomed to Tee Set with two fines, both Monster Putter and a Skirt.  As many Tee Setters will tell you Sheinal, this is a sign of our affection and we hope you will return soon to reclaim your contributions.  Others having skirts included Bill Lloyd, Chris Smith and Mel Cantarella while Tom gave back half his winnings with a fine for Most Strokes.

2015 Tee Set Matchplay

There were four matches staged ever the weekend with Bill Lloyd drawing first blood on the Saturday in beating Ric Wymer 4 and 2

On Sunday James Ross took out Chris Smith with a 3 and 2 result in a battle of wits that started the night before and lasted into the wee small hour.  Wina was also to convince Mike Webb to join 7 women (including the caddies) before whipping him mercilessly in a 6 and 5 drubbing.  Jan Janda stayed steady for a solid 5 and 3 victory over the unsteady Bushy, who lost an admirable 8 shots in penalties.

Next up

Back to the bread and butter and a course that offers perhaps a greater variety of challenges than any other in the Greater Jakarta area, Pangkalan Jati.

11:00 am start and with green fees of 490,000 walking plus about 100,000 for a shared caret

If you have not been selected for the Interleague match at Jagorawi then do come and join in the fun at the inimitable PJ and play for half price. Sign up here if you haven’t done so already.

Good luck to our Interleague team …. and see the rest of you at PJ!!! …. Tee Set

Rancamaya Stay and Play – 16th/17th May 2015

r hotelAfter what seems like a rather long wait, the Rancamaya Stay & Play weekend is finally on us – and we can start packing for one of the great highlights of the Tee Set year.

All those joining in the weekend of fun will receive an Information Pack about the weekend by e-mail later today, but some highlights here:

Players accompanied by partners and kids etc. can check in anytime from 12 noon on the Saturday, subject only to room availability

Others should play first and then check in – but you may be able to do so before play if you wish, so long as there are rooms available.

Payment for golf is separate unfortunately, however there will be a dedicated desk for handling this in the hotel lobby area from 10am each day – and you will be able to pay for both days at the same time.

Play on the Saturday afternoon is entirely casual, no prizes or skirts or whatever, just form up into groups of your own making – and get out there and
play anytime after 12 noon.

The legendary Tee Set Bouncy Castle will be available for the use of children from 6 to 60 and beyond, from midday on Saturday until 6pm on the Sunday. You MUST supervise your kids when they are using the thing – please note that the club/hotel and us will not be responsible for any, erm, accidents!!

The Band will start to play at 7pm in the Golf Club lobby and terrace area and, in a master stroke of planning, very close to where the BBQ will also be held. Dress code for the evening is casual but, from experience, the ladies generally show up in pretty frocks and smelling of expensive perfume – something we would certainly not wish to discourage. The guys generally show up dressed as beach bums and no amount of discouragement is going to change that 😦

Previous such events have also seen Tee Setters bringing a wide range of delectable eats and drinks for sharing with all and sundry to supplement the extensive range already on offer.

Sunday is also of course our regular Tee Set round and therefore with all the usual prizes and fines, and we have seven signed up just for the Sunday already – if you haven’t signed up for the weekend or just the Sunday, then please do so here, we still have room.

A fair number of us are staying on the Sunday night also and most of them are also playing the following day at Rainbow Hills before a tearful departure for Jakarta and home. Should you wish to join them then drop Coordinating Supremo Jan Janda a line. And while we are on the subject, many thanks to Jan for putting a whole bunch of work into getting the entire weekend organised – and organised so efficiently – well done Jan, we will buy you a beer at the BBQ, scant reward we know but it’s the sentiment that counts, right?

See y’all at Rancamaya!! ….. Tee Set

PS a chance to have fun and support a great cause on Monday May 25th
