Well, the best laid plans of mice and men do unravel from time to time. Maybe a bit more frequently when I am involved. First day as Co-Captain of Glorious TeeSet and I was late arriving due to a uniform malfunction. I had left the house without my gear, such was my eagerness to get to Riverside. Nevertheless operations were in fine hands with Co-Captain Arnold arranging pairings and organising bagtags and Adhe handling the financial side of things.

After enduring many months of rain and soggy golf courses Sunday presented itself in all of its glory. We were up against the hardened Wolves team, defending champions. Glorious had recruited well during the pre-season and expectations to move up the table were strong. Anyway that didn’t happen and were were beaten 6 and 4. Let’s get to the highlights. At one stage we were all tied then we left the clubhouse. Soon after we took the lead which we held for a few holes. The 2 Co-Captains fought hard but the Wolves had too much firepower and our 2 pairs both went down. Our top seed, Lionel, started strongly but staying late at BnV caught up with him over the final holes.

On a brighter note Brian capped off his debut with TeeSet with a nice win in the Singles and always difficult to beat, Frank & Peter had a strong win. These guys have been rewarded with a couple of free flights at Riverside. So a really promising start and if we can keep it together surely Glorious TeeSet will be hoisting the Trophy come season’s end. Hoorick Hoorah Hoorick Hoorick Hoorah TeeSet TeeSet Rah Rah Rah

On the side to Interleague we have our regular TeeSet outing where things are just as intense. We had winners.

World Cup Of Golf 7th of June at Riverside

We have the whole course and will be shotgunning it. There will be prizes and booze and a great day. You’d have to be stuck in the Strait of Hormuz to miss it. Teams are filling up. Start a Team or let us build one for you. A great social day and a great days golf. Fashion Houses are lining up this year to dress the Teams. Let’s see what they come up with.
