A glorious day was presented for the 40+ TeeSetters who joined last Sunday’s event. Tee off times went to schedule and were all maybe it back to the clubhouse before the lights went out. Albeit the last flights in, had little time to ponder their final putts as the sun sank rapidly in the west.
There were a few of the final first round matchplays being played and the Writer, was involved in one. Off to a beautiful start and a commanding lead before the wheels fell off his chariot and he was trampled into submission by Riccardo. Young Simon Laneri is a young golfer who is on the way up in The TeeSet world. Don’t be surprised to see him with the KMM (Kojo Monthly Medal) soon. Ladbrokes have him at attractive odds currently, get on. Best financial advice you’ll ever get from me.
Simon was also treated to angry language in both Italian and English courtesy of myself and Claudio. Bilingual swearing is an oft overlooked skill on a resume. In front, Hitoshi and Anirudh were having a ding dong strokeplay battle, whilst Bobby and Ameesh made up the numbers in their 4 ball. Behind us Patrick, Bob, Neil and April wondered what was holding them up. Leading TeeSet off the 10th tee box that morning were Vijay, Arnold, Albert and Nanin. Vijay and Albert very surprised to be in the lead group as they are frequently allocated a position in the rearguard of flights. I was surprised also and told them it wouldn’t happen again. They were’nt responsible for the mildly slow play they were off and a way at a very steady pace. How long can you look for a lost ball? Answer 3 minutes. Use it then take your medicine.
Let’s get to the winners, I have a day on the hash ahead.

Well as an indecisive member of the committee I failed to hand out the monthly medal. A first ever occurance at Teeset and probably be the only thing I will be remembered for. But I did handout some cash. Low Gross Hitoshi with a 75, long drive Arnold 190m, nearest the pin Claudio 3.01m. Well done. Putri was stuck in the showers and Adhe presented her with the long drive ladies win.
But we did have a winner, and Tim with 39 Stableford points will be presented with his well earned Medal this Sunday. I hope you can all make it to join us for this glorious presentation.
After the presentations we could settle back into the all important warm down. The Manor had a good deal on San Miguel Products and it was noted that Arnold and Steve amongst others were making the most of this offer. Craig Kecil noted that the hemlines of the waitresses had dropped significantly as had their service. A few jugs of Margaritas later and it was time to say goodbye to the Manor and head home.
