Let’s get straight to the action of last weekend’s match. Nearly all the Teams were struggling to find numbers but Trsina sent her husband to Sentul and was available and Captain Arnold twisted Richard’s arm to join him in a two ball on Sunday. We were up against the Tin Cups who were slightly undermanned but had picked up a couple of handy players. At 12.15 we were under starter’s orders, I was still searching for golf clubs as were several other players from various teams. No more girl caddies we were told. Why would you use a female caddy at Jagorawi where the men are generally so good at assisting in course management and green reading. Maybe you are a Dutch househusband?
Teeing off on the super long par 3 5th hole is not an idyllic starting point and a double par was good enough to see The Glorious off to an early lead. Well, until we got to the next hole where Velma pointed out that her triple was good enough for a half. My ball had been in my pocket well before the green. The golf was ugly the weather was hot the company was great, Velma and Sri representing the Cups and Viboon and myself wearing the Glorious colours.
The singles of Frank and Daniel came home with 2 points. Daniel won his match and Frank found that Bill couldn’t put a foot wrong and went down in a close game. Bill damage a club hitting from a root but the win lessened the addition of a bent club to his bag. Capt. Arnold & Richard had a very close game losing their match on the last hole. Trisna & Ryan had an easier time playing against a valiant solo Bags and were too strong with a 6 and 5 win. Viboon and Co-Capt Michael had a tight game against two ladies where the we discovered the ladies index is different to the mens, we also discovered 70 metres between tee boxes but were good enough to win on the last hole with a very long birdie putt from Viboon. The Glorious win 6&4 over the Tin Cups. This puts us in a good position to coming storming home to second place, the DOGS have a pretty handy lead with not many points left to play for.
The Winners

Viboon knocked out a handy 39 stableford points on a tough day. Well done.

Low gross with a very impressive 90 off the stick goes to Fernando. Anirudh is still laughing I bet
