A not uncommon “discussion” on Tee Set Sundays and other occasions where Tee Setters meet is the question of what is the best course we play – or rather, what’s your favourite course?

The factors involved in “favourite” when it comes to courses are of course many fold and include the quality of greens and fairways and indeed the width of those fairways,  the views and general ambiance, the price of drinks, the cuteness of the caddies and of course how easy it is to get to from where you live – amongst many others!

Our poll of Tee Setters did not ask anyone to explain their own decision making criteria, just to tell us their 5 favourites and no more – and here are the unvarnished results:

We suspect everyone will find something of interest there and generally something that supports their own views or confirms the craziness of the views of others!

We see the field split into the great, the very good and the merely good, though will continue to visit them all (with the exception of Lido Lakes which is being totally re-modeled) as we attempt to visit as broad a cross section of Jakarta area courses as we can in the course of the year.

The great will be checked to make sure that we have them in the 2015 schedule enough – and we intend to use the 4 Ramadan weekends this year to go for the very best courses, courses that are generally out of our target price range at other times of the year eg Cenkareng, Royale Jakarta and Bogor Raya.

A particular surprise in the results is the low, low ranking of Senayan given it was a huge hit attendance-wise in 2014, we guess its rather cramped par 69 format did not help – or their bar prices.
