Tee Set Championships: Saturday this week!

We look forward to the Championships and as of writing, we have just 1 spot open should anyone be interested. Please sign up here: 2020-tee-set-championship-registration/  and will confirm by return with all the details of the day. For all those signed up, you should have received a welcome note and all the details for the day. If not or if you are unable to now join, please let us know asap.

Not to forget that for those missing a Sunday round at Matoa on the last Sunday of November, our friends from D.O.G.S will be having their weekly event the next day having kindly exchanged playing days with us this week to accommodate our arrangements. Your immediate past President will be out supporting them and would be pleased to see many Tee Setters doing the same.

Election of President at Championship: Update

As was previously announced, I’ll be stepping down as of this Saturday as President. We did a call out for members interested and willing to step forward into the role for the coming year but there was nobody ready at this time to take up the mantle. Subsequently, 2 of our former Presidents therefore kindly stepped forward and volunteered to “hold the fort” pending identifying a new recruit to the position. After some discussions as a group, including the current and potential new committee members, we are proposing rather than having a beauty contest on Saturday for the role of President, that we move back to a flatter structure with more committee positions and members sharing the work load of running the Society and making decisions collectively as a group.

We will therefore be proposing this structure to the membership on Saturday with the initial slate of committee members. So far, Craig Ewers, Geoff Thwaites, Ric Wymer, Bill Lloyd and David Baglivo have agreed to form the nucleus of the new committee but we would also like to add a few more members to cover roles which we feel could usefully be filled. Please let Roger, Ric or Bill know by return if you are interested to join the committee so we can add you to the slate on Saturday; if there are still positions open after Saturday, and assuming the membership concurs with the proposal, the new committee will be looking to tap a few of you on the shoulder to help out.
