Another great Tee Set event – Perfect weather, pace of play with Cengkareng being the friendly darling course it is, to rebuild your confidence after a few bad rounds! Sami set the standard on hole 1, after two monster shots unfortunately missing a short putt to score an eagle.

TEE BOX SELECTION:

Tee Set does not mandate that all players must play from the White Tees on regular games!

Tee Set policy is;

Blue and Red Tees for Monthly Medal and Club Championship
White or Blue Tees for all other games.

Jakarta Inter League games are always White and Red Tees.
Any joint society games will be as prescribed by the organisers.

Mygolf2u software does not have provision in the tournament setup to provide Blue or White Tees it only provides one or the other.
Therefore, all Monthly Medal and Championship are shown as Blue Tees and all other games are shown as White Tees.
However individual player may select Blue Tees in the application prior to tee off.

HANDICAPS:

Members are responsible for their own handicaps.

Tee Set has now transitioned to mygolf2u application for handicap and game management.

• First download and register the mygolf2u application and select Tee Set as a favourite.
• Register to play in the Tournament shown in the Tournament list.
• Enter your score as you go hole by hole. ( sometimes scores do get lost during a round. In this case give your scorecard to Admin for entry.
• You can enter games that are not Tee Set tournaments in the “New Game” section of the app.
• You need at least 5 games in the app. to get a handicap

Game 2061 was scheduled for Gunung Geulis but due to several factors we made a last minute change to Cengkareng. This change restricted us to only 5 flights. Anyway we had 22 register but only 19 played.

This week will see the return of The Bali Classic and several of our members have been invited so we may see reduced numbers next Sunday.

The large crowd of JIL and Tee Set players found their way to the balcony perimeter as the Riverside resto was under construction. The view from above was so pleasing some were tempted to spend the afternoon there.
A rain-free day saw one side of the course moving lickety-split while the other side got bogged down a bit.
Congrats to the JAWS juggernaut that won going away in JIL play. Tee Set nipped Wolves for second. Many thanks to all Tee Set participants over the 2022 season.

We have received some blow back regarding Dress Code for the Awards Night, therefore we have further reduced the Code to include Formal Indonesian Attire ie. long sleeve batik shirts. So now it is Tuxedo, Jacket & Batik.

It is only 5 weeks to go so we need to have all the ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD, COURSE SETUP, VENUE SETUP, SHIRTS ORDERED, SPONSORS, PRIZES PURCHASED, AUDIO/VISUAL SYSTEM ORDERED, STAFF AND OFFICIALS ORGANISED. This is not as easy as it first may appear and it does take time. On a day when many struggled with the subtle putting lines of the Modern greens Sam took full advantage of a course in great shape. Look no further than the results page!

Axel saved the best for last by carding birdies on three of the last four holes.

Richard was in a generous mood when, after missing his 1-meter putt on the finishing hole, offered his caddy Rp.200,000 if she could sink it from the same spot. Center cut!

Diarmuid shrugged off his 103 from the day before and shot 20 strokes better on Sunday. Crazy game, golf.

Speaking of crazy, George put on a virtuoso multilingual prize presentation that kept us in stitches.

Many desultory rounds will be quickly forgotten but Laurent’s special play on Sunday (net 59) was memorable.

Dan Swinburne was the 48th and final entry giving Tee Set a total divisible by four. Tempting as it must have been, no Swinburne tee shots were observed from the reds as Hanna, Eli, and Sandra made up his foursome.

PRESIDENTS REPORT:

There are two issues to get sorted;

Requests for playing partners and flight times must be made by 08:00 on Thursday otherwise you will have to take what’s left.

Data entry into mygolf2u must be done as you go hole by hole. On some rare occasions scores already inputted will vanish. In those occasions Admin will assist. Delays in announcing winners is caused by not entering as you go.

Indar drove the creek running 30m in front of the green on hole #5. Now that’s punching it out there! He needs to throttle back about 2m next time.
Cucu Chandra – hotter than a $2 pistol – shot 44 on the second nine and, with rising matchplay star Velma Yolanda, dismissed their opposition 7&6. Ladies – ya done good!
A special word of appreciation to Simon, Gaurav, and Bags for filling out their rosters at a time when many golfers were predisposed. Just-in-time delivery!

PRESIDENTS REPORT:

Yesterday there was some confusion regarding the results of the Tee Set game.

We either score Stroke Play or Stableford. This is clearly shown in the mygolf2u Tournaments for each game.

Once mygolf2u is setup it will produce the correct score on the Leaderboard. In the Leaderboard there are two options 1. Gross and 2. Net. To see the Stableford leaders it is necessary to select Net. The winner will be the highest points score.

PRESIDENTS REPORT:

The 4 hr 45m duration Gunung Geulis experience was flawless except for rain late in the game and the 1hr 45min drive back to Jakarta. Everyone finished except one struck out on the last two holes.

I must stress that the flights published on Friday are subject to change at short notice due to several factors, Cancellations, New Registrations, Walk-in visitors, course requirements. So, always check with Admin when you check-in for any changes that may affect you.

By now you should have received the on-line NOMINATION FORM for President. This was necessary due to show uptake with the printed form. I strongly encourage you to nominate the person most suitable and desirable to lead us through next year. Admin will contact your nominee to confirm candidacy.

I am pleased report that we are in advanced stages of preparation for the CHAMPIONSHIP event to be held on 18th November at Gading Raya. Note Gading Raya has some advantages in that traffic is reasonable, rain is less likely and the the price is right.

What? Another perfect day for golf? Yes sirree!!
A jolly group of stalwarts and newbies mixed it up on Sunday in a scramble format that produced a plethora of under-par holes. Mulligans rained like confetti – especially on the closing greens where each team seemed to have a few Mullies to spare.

Highlight of the day goes to the Baglivo foursome that eagled the 18th capitalizing on two big Bags blasts. Finishing with a flourish they sank the pressure putt with a snooker cue. Take that, Ronnie O’Sullivan!!

Hats off to Jane Finnie who personally parred number 13 with 4 great shots.

This Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the wild elephants in Riau Provence Sumatra and their habitat. RIMBA SATWA FOUNDATION (RSF)

Many of you have seen PT KOJO as a sponsor of Tee Set for many years but may not know what we do. KOJO is a property developer supporting the Oil and Gas industry in Jakarta (BSD), Sumatra (Balai Raja DURI), Kalimantan (Muara Badak) and Surabaya. KOJO has always protected the forest on our land. Now the only forests in Sumatra Riau is Chevron and KOJO. see attached aerial view below. Elephants have always used KOJO land to stay for a couple of week then move on, coming 2 times per year. Now it is 4 times per year. RS Foundation have been active for many years on KOJO land they have planted 2,500 trees so far this year. KOJO has contracted them to plant 11,000 more trees that support elephants. Directors in their private capacity have donated to RS Foundation and now we have introduced Tee Set to this very worthwhile charity. It is my sincere hope that Tee Set will continue to support RS Foundation after my presidency ends.

The Tee Set Championship event is a serious golf tournament and therefore mulligans are not on sale to support our charity however an auction will be held to raise money for RS Foundation.
