Last Sunday TeeSet returned to Tigaraksa and we were treated to the most wonderful round of golf so far this season. Quite a few golfers baulked at the drive to the course which is a tad of an hour from Kemang. Well they missed out on a golf course that is designed to challenge golfers. Well protected greens, doglegs and water all came into play as you sort to land your ball on probably the best greens in Jakarta. Well enough of that lets get to the winners.

The winners were the 6 golfers who showed up that day. Teeing off at 12.15 ambling around the course and finishing at 4pm. All were winners. They don’t overbook at this Oasis of calm, there are no mosque noises or motorbike noises just the swearing President losing his mind occasionally. This is a course you could play every Sunday and then you get to the lockers. The water pressure, glorious, the towels, bought last week and you have a choice of colours. It was time well spent in the locker rooms fondling the fine felty fleece of fresh towels. Golf clubs have been stingy in this area for too long and Glorious Tigaraksa boldly stepped into this space and offer white and , wait for it, brown towels. I’d drive from Kedaton just to use the facilities here. The staff in the restaurant area are attentive and the hemlines are like pre-Manor days at Cengkareng. Car parking aplenty.

I played Halim yesterday and the greens were in great shape a tad slow and probably need a trim which will be done for the weekend, but a lot of the fancy clubs could take a leaf out of Halim’s book on green upkeep.
